BRUNO MARS STRIKES DEAL ON COCAINE POSSESSION CHARGES

Bruno Mars, is one of the most talented singer’s on the radio today, so I was really disappointed when he was arrested for cocaine possession.  On Sept. 19 police allegedly found 2.6 grams of cocaine on him after a concert at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. 

It looks like they have a case because according to the Associated Press, he will waive an evidentiary hearing on Feb. 4 and plead guilty.  Since he is a first time offender he just needs to pay a $2,000 fine, perform 200 hours of community service, and complete drug counseling.  Lucky for him, if he stays clear of trouble for a full year, the conviction will not show up on his record. 

This is good news because Mars, who has seven Grammy nominations, is expected to perform at the Feb. 13th ceremony.  He writes his own songs and has an incredible voice, so I am hoping he learned his lesson.  Mars is far too talented to let it go to waste.  Stay out of trouble Bruno!  Or BrittaJ17 will come looking for you to set you straight!

AMERICANS TRAPPED IN EGYPT, HOW DO THEY GET OUT?

The U.S. is discouraging American’s from visiting Egypt at this time.  But what is the advice for the ones currently stuck there?  Reports have many caller’s saying they are trapped in Egypt with no way out.  Numerous requests for answers from the State Department apparently have gone unanswered.  One caller said she was stuck on a cruise ship and has not found any route out of the country.  She is now frustrated, but all in vain.

What are tourists to do who are stuck?  There seems to be no good answers, but a news reports says they are arranging charter flights out of Cairo tomorrow.  This is a complete mess, I feel for the people stuck with very little answers.

EGYPTIAN RIOTS COME AS SURPRISE, GAS PRICES & GOODS TO RISE

CNN reports that the riots in Egypt was a big surprise.  The impact of the riots will soon be felt worldwide; including higher gas and food prices.  It is ironic that the protestor’s began due to the high unemployment rate and high prices in Egypt.  Now it is likely their wishes will be met with the opposite outcome.  News reports also claim China may hoard oil, bringing the prices up even more.   The increase in gas always has a domino effect on all other supplies, so this is definitely NOT good news for the economy.  

We are still trying to dig out of the recession and may now fall backward with this recent conflict in Cairo.  The video link below shows how they initially tried to block news reporter’s from sending updates and the brutality taking place.

As this tension grows it will increase the odds of the U.S. military getting involved.  With our current deficit and other issues, this only adds more stress to President Obama.  How much can one President take? I know it would make me want to bail.  Has a President ever just got fed up enough to quit?  I would, but let’s hope Obama eats his Wheaties.

PRAYER STILL GOES ON DURING PROTEST IN CAIRO (video)

It is amazing to me how this video shows the protestor’s in Cairo stopping for prayer.  They throw rocks, loot businesses, scream obscenities, but then stop to pray?  If their belief is so strong and prayers can be heard, why not pray over it instead of using violence? It just makes we wonder how this could happen?  The police even stop to allow for the prayer tradition to occur.

 Anyone have any insight…just curious.  This reminds me of when I was in Puerto Rico and the protestor’s stopped their cars in the street and began to dance.

 

SARAH PALIN COMMENT: DID TRACY MORGAN GO TOO FAR? (VIDEO)

TNT has apologized for Tracy Morgan’s inappropriate comment about Sarah Palin.  While joking around during a sports interview with Charles Barkley, Tracy made a lewd comment about Palin which caused a stir with sponsors.  Once they complained the network had to clean up his mess with an apology. 

Tracy is a comedian and star of 30 Rock so he is expected to use humor.  But did he go too far?  I personally think he should have saved this for stand-up on HBO, but who am I to judge.  May not be suitable for some, so please take caution before viewing.  What do you think?

MARK ZUKERBERG VISITS SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (video)

EGYPTIAN RIOTS; PRISONER’S RELEASED TO ASSIST

Several news outlets have reported that prisoner’s were intentionally released to add to the chaos.  They were allegedly provided with instructions to join the riots and assist in the takedown of Mubarak.  At first this seemed impossible to believe, but it now makes sense, since the security forces have appeared to join in the efforts.  With additional reports that police officer’s were given instructions to disband and put on civilian clothes, it may be factual information.

Who would have given these instructions?  No-one seems to know at this point, but it is sure to come out.  This is an impossible situation, when will it end?  Who will step up to the plate to assist?  Only time will tell.
