2012: SIMON COWELL ‘X FACTOR’ WANTS YOU! AUDITION CITIES AND RULES

19 Mar

UPDATE: THE X FACTOR 2013 AUDITION CITIES...CLICK LINK.

The new show ‘X Factor’ has a great marketing strategy.  I received the email below, which is a memo from Simon Cowell asking for contestants to sign up. His new show is expected
to break all records for competitions, with a whopping $5 million dollar prize!

If I could sing, I would surely get on board…too bad my singing would make Simon cry. But I would be more than happy to be a judge, if you want to see your ratings soar…call me Simon:).

Below is a guide for your X FACTOR audition – everything you need to know to show up and be prepared.

Hello,
Do you, a friend or a family member have what it takes to become a global superstar? I’m looking for
the next singing sensation, someone with that special something – ‘The X Factor.’

The X Factor is my new show launching this Fall on Fox. It’s a
make-it-or-break-it singing competition, and this time there are no
restrictions. Solo singers, vocal groups and anyone over the age of 12 have the
chance to win a $5 million recording deal with Sony Music. There’s NO upper age
limit!
If you think you’ve got what it takes, we encourage you to audition. The search starts in Los Angeles on March 27th, and then continues onto Miami, Newark, Seattle, and Chicago, ending in Dallas. We are looking for people who know they can be superstars and have the raw talent to back it
up.
Now is your chance, who knows, you or your group could walk away with
a $5 million recording contract and a lifetime of stardom.
Below is a guide for your X FACTOR audition – everything you need to know to show up and be prepared.
Good luck,
Simon Cowell

STEP-BY-STEP AUDITION INFO

1.
REGISTER.
There
are TWO PARTS to the registration process
  • FIRST: Collect your wristband the day before your audition. You pick
up your wristband beginning at 6 AM the day before the audition day, until 6 AM
the day of your audition. (You might be waiting in line for a bit, so plan
accordingly). Also note that if you plan on bringing friends and family to
support you, they have to register as well.
  • SECOND: Arrive before 8 AM on the day of your audition. It could be a
long wait so dress weather appropriate and remember to bring snacks and drinks.
All the info you need to get to the venue for auditions and wristband collection
is listed below and available here.
Everyone attending will need a government issued ID, and that includes
    friends and family.

Now
that you know when and where to show up, make sure you’re prepared to WOW THE
JUDGES!
2.
PICK YOUR SONGS.
Choose
a verse and chorus from three different songs to sing without backing music -
just vocals. You may not get to perform all three, but be prepared just in case!
This isn’t the time to go with obvious choices. Pick songs that are unique to
your personal talents and highlight what it is that you do best.
3.
DRESS TO IMPRESS.
If
you’re serious about being a star, you have to look the part. That means showing
off your own personal style with an ensemble that represents how you see
yourself as an artist. Make it good, this is your time to shine.
4.
MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
  • You have to be a U.S. citizen.
  • A parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under the age of
    18.
  • Bring Valid ID: Keep in mind, that ID is still required for minors.
That can come in the form of a school ID or a yearbook page with a matching
birth certificate. If the minor is too young for school identification, parents
can present a photo ID and the child’s birth certificate so that names can be
    matched on the printed record.
If
you pass this portion of the audition process, a member of the production team
will contact you about what’s next.

    To: Mr. Simon Cowell:

Could you please have the X Factor show to expand from just being exclusively available to USA citizens and begin to extend the audition search to the citizens of 10 provinces and Northwest Territories of Canada?

I have a friend of mine named Patti C., and boy can she sing. When Patti sings she captivates the ears and attention of everyone seated in the room; After she has finished singing, there are many which not only applaude her, but also walk up to her, only to compliment her singing voice and appreciatively thank her for singing.

Patti C. resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia and she is one who truly does appreciate the candidness of Mr. Simon Cowell and respects his judging abilities greatly.

Some of the greatest musicians do come from Canada, such as Burton Cumming, Randy Bachman, Neil Young, Paul Anka, Sarah McLachlan, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, The Tragically Hip, Great Big Sea, Nelly Furtado, April Wine, Meatloaf, Trooper and Avril Lavigne,
    There are many

Would you please come to Canada and hold auditions for X Factor in the Capital city of each province and Northwest Territories? There are many talented Canadians waiting to be discovered
and would jump at the chance to be judged by Mr. Simon Cowell.

Please let the age of the contestants be open to all, for there are some in the age ranges of 30, 40 and 50 which can sing just as good; if not better than those aged 18- 29 or 18 – 35 years of age. Look at the discovery you made with Susan Boyle, which you would not have had the chance of discovering her if the age limitations had been effectively enforced.

You can use the email which will appear, when I send this comment message to you, to contact me.
If the email address does not appear, please contact me, by leaving a comment for Friend of Patti C.’s on this web comment page.

Thank you for taking the time to read this comment and I hope to receive a positive reply with promising discovery of vocal delights on the Canadian side of the border crossing.

    Best Regards,
    A Friend of Patti C.’s

I don’t know where you guys have been – but they have been advertising X-Factor Canada for the last few months. Celebrity judges that have auditioned so far is Julianne Hough – I have read on different sites that Cheryl Cole actually signed for the US and Canada with Simon Cowell so it is possible she is going to be a celebrity judge on our panel. Google it – X-Factor Canada auditions are starting in the fall and hitting each capital city.

Thanks for the comment Jamie. But I mean a guest judge who is NOT famous:). Just the average viewer giving feedback. LOL!
