(VIDEO) THREE BALTIMORE MARYLAND EDUCATORS WIN $35 MILLION EACH; $656M MEGA MILLIONS LOTTERY DRAWING

Finally, people who truly deserve to win the lottery actually hit the jackpot in Baltimore, MD.  After deep discussions on how best to proceed, two teachers and one administrator decided to stay anonymous when they came forward today to claim their prize.  They will each receive a part of the largest jackpot in history, with the Mega Millions reaching $656 million last month.  After taxes they will each receive a whopping $35 million.

Dressed in casual matching jerseys and calling themselves ”The Three Amigo’s”, they told the Baltimore Sun they plan to spend their new millions on extravagant and extremely wasteful things.  Women in their 20′s and 50′s and a 40-year-old man, have plans to continue working at the school for now, but will quit their second jobs.  But let’s see how long that lasts…

I’m happy to hear two of them were teachers, because as we all know they deserve to earn millions for their efforts anyway.  It’s great that someone who truly should be lavished with luxury items, will finally obtain them. Winning this huge amount should be a special shout out for all the educators around the world.

Good for them!  They can feel free to share in my direction…if they get the message:).

4/10/12: OZZIE GUILLEN SUSPENDED FOR RESPECTING FIDEL CASTRO; WHAT HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH?

This is the perfect example of “be careful what you say to reporters”.  In today’s world of politically correctness, even if you live in America “The Land of The Free”, some topics are still taboo.  And Ozzie Guillen learned this quickly, when his recent remarks got him suspended for five games, effective immediately.

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen caused and uproar and protests in for telling Time Magazine reporter, “I respect Fidel Castro for being able to lead Cuba for six decades”.  While the Cuban dictator is hated by many around the world, should Ozzie be punished for speaking his mind?

What’s surprising is this statement had nothing to do with baseball, but clearly caused a problem at his job.  It appears nothing you say at work or home is sacred anymore.  While we were once a country where we prided ourselves with “freedom of speech”, this is now not the case.

Post something on Facebook, Tweet the wrong thing, say one thing out of line on a network….and you are out!  There is nothing you can say at this point that is not scrutinized, so its best to just shut your mouth.  Whether you agree with his statement or not, isn’t this still a country that believes in free speech?

Will we all soon become robots saying only the “right thing”, and not what we truly believe?  Isn’t that how they do things in North Korea?  Are we headed in that direction?  Is the First Amendment out the window…let’s hope not.

Oh wait, maybe I need not ask that question either…probably should just keep that to myself as well.  On the other hand, I don’t have a boss who can fire me at this point, so all bets are off.

4/10/12 VIDEO: GEORGE ZIMMERMAN ATTORNEY’S QUIT; TRAYVON MARTIN SHOOTING UPDATE

The shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, started protests across the country.  Many were outraged that a night watch patrol could kill a teen in a hoodie, because he felt “threatened”.  But the drama continued with today’s announcement that attorney’s for the shooter, George Zimmerman, have now quit the case.

After defense attorney’s Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig lost contact with George Zimmerman for two days, they decided to resign.  In a press conference they stated, “We can’t represent him unless he comes forward and asks us”.  They went on to say, “We have a pretty good idea where he is, but Zimmerman is not answering the phone”.  It appears they believe he is still in the United States, but just not in Florida.  Seems natural for him to run and try to hide under a rock, with all this unwanted publicity.  The strange thing is…the attorney’s never actually met with him.  Say what?

What an incredibly senseless shooting and outcome.  This goes to show…if we put guns in the hands of untrained citizens and give them authority to shoot based on “feeling”, things can go really wrong.

While it is tragic to lose the life of an innocent teen, it is also disheartening that a “regular guy” lost his normal life with one bad decision.  We all judge but should be reminded…one wrong move and we are all a step closer to destruction.   It would not be surprising if Zimmerman ends up in a mental institution from a breakdown.

And yes, Zimmerman has set up a website to get donations for paying attorney fees.  Will you donate to his cause?  Sorry…but no plans on my end to throw cash his way.  No Grand Jury coming to save him either…that plan was rejected.
