(VIDEO) 2011: MICHAEL JACKSON VS. DR. CONRAD MURRAY; TRIAL BEGINS THIS WEEK

The trial of Dr. Conrad Murray vs. Michael Jackson is set to begin Tuesday 9/27/11.  Dr. Murray was accused of causing Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, but has pleaded “not guilty” of the lessor charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Viewers worldwide will be glued to the to the trial, in hopes that the beloved Michael Jackson is well represented. The Jackson family will also certainly be watching to see how well the prosecution does, in hopes of justice for MJ.

While Dr. Murray made some critical errors, stories of his need for cash and the $100K Jackson was paying him are resurfacing.  Was Dr. Murray’s desperation the cause of his greed and reckless behavior?  Should he be held responsible for Jackson’s death?  Well, only the jury will have the power to answer those questions. It will be interesting to see how the jury responds to the information supplied by the prosecution.

We can bet this will be the O.J. Simpson trial of the decade.  And just as in the case of OJ, whether they find Murray innocent or guilty, it really won’t matter.  Because he will surely live the rest of his life in a prison within himself, having little to no support by most.

Will the jury let MJ’s pop status sway their decision?  Do you believe Dr. Murray should be convicted of this crime?  One things for sure, as a doctor, he should have at least known how to perform CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation).

CASEY ANTHONY RELEASED ON JULY 17, 2011; IS THIS RIGHT?

Casey Anthony will be a free woman on July 17th.  Based on calculations by the Judge, the 4-year sentence handed down for lying to police, will be a wash due to time-served.

This case has infuriated as many as the O.J. Simpson trial.  The announcement of her quick release is certain to heighten that frustration, but she may wish they would have kept her longer. It will be a long hard road for her in the “real world” going forward.

Prior to the Judge providing the timeline, she sat smiling at her attorney’s, looking like she was on her way to Disney World.  It’s amazing that she can feel any happiness at this moment.  Although she now will have her freedom, where is her heartfelt sorrow for the loss of Caylee.  This should be a bitter-sweet moment for her, not just sweet.

And we wonder why so many still believe she is guilty.  As juror number three announced today, in a press conference, “not guilty, does not mean innocent.”

6/27/11: ROD BLAGOJEVICH FOUND GUILTY ON 17 COUNTS, NOT SURPRISED

Ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich was found guilty in the high-profile corruption trial.  Jurors deliberated for only ten days and today declared him guilty on 17 counts and not guilty of one count.  Additional charges still need to be read and are expected shortly.

For a man who said “I am innocent of all charges” over and over again, Blago showed little reaction as the jury read the verdict, finding him guilty on 17 of 20 counts against him.  However, reports say many saw him look at his wife Patti with extreme disappointment after the verdict was read. Later asking his attorney “What happened?”  Well what happened was, the jury found him guilty on most counts, were deadlocked on two and found him not guilty of one count.  Does that answer the question?

What will Blago do now?  More reality T.V. shows?  “Blago behind bars”.  Let’s see how many he can convince of his innocence while in jail.  He probably will run for head cook, once a politician always a politician.  With a possible 12-300 years in prison he will have a very long time to run a great political campaign, in the slammer.

This verdict does not surprise me at all and we are certain to see other politicians blab on the phone and get caught.  They always do.  Big egos are a part of the job, most politicians believe they are untouchable.

2011 BLAGO RETRIAL BEGINS, WILL HE WIN?

Ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich has pulled out his boxing gloves for his upcoming retrial, which begins this week.  His media blitz started again and it will be needed more than ever this go round.  Blagos’ original defense team deserted him when the money ran out, so he will need to work harder than ever.  In hopes of reaching the perspective jurors, his camera time continues to focus on his innocence.

While Blago has always maintained his innocence, only he and his insider’s know the truth.  Many have mixed feelings about his guilt or innocence so it is hard to tell how this will end.  But one thing’s for sure, Blago has become a pro at defending himself and speaks out as though he is running for office.  Pulling out his charm, and repeating “I am innocent” thousands of times, has a brainwash effect. If I was on the jury and had those words in the back of my mind throughout the trial, it may cause me to doubt the prosecutor’s.

In the end, we certainly do not know the entire story. But what we do know is that many politicians have done questionable things, and some get caught and some don’t.  In this case, Blago was just on the “got caught” list, in the eyes of the prosecutors. Unlucky for him, but it looks like he will fight hard until the end.

What do you think?  Is Blago guilty or innocent?
