OPRAH WINFREY has been the “queen of talk shows” for 25 years. Her ratings have soared through the roof during her long run, and she has probably earned more than all hosts combined. But Oprah’s reign is coming to an end, with her last show set to air May 25, 2011.
As a young woman with all odds stacked against her, she was told she would never beat Phil Donohue and many probably thought she would not last. But as we all know, her billion dollar empire continues to grow, and she proved all her critics wrong.
It is unbelievable to think that I was a very young woman when she began her show. She inspired me to know that we are all capable of reaching higher limits, without having to be perfect. Oprah has been truly a great example of what America has to offer not matter who you are. She was overweight, African-American and a woman and still made it to the top. So for all of you who do not believe hard work and perseverance is the key to success…Oprah says “in your face with a can of mace” (or something like that!).
Oprah keep on rockin…many will miss you in this venue, but we know you have far more to accomplish in life.
