SARAH PALINS SON MARRIES BRITTA HANSON, HOPE I DON’T NEED TO CHANGE MY NAME

It was reported that Sarah Palin’s 22-year-old son Track, recently tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, Britta Hanson.  The young couple married in an intimate ceremony in their home state of Alaska.

What makes me a bit nervous is she shares my name.  I truly hope that my name will not now be associated with Sarah Palin.  No disrespect (maybe a little), but it really may cause me to consider changing my name if people start saying “Britta is your name?  Like Sarah Palin’s daughter-in-law?”  Yuck!

Sarah Palin released a statement, “Our families couldn’t be happier! These are two hard-working, humble, active, studious young adults who grew up together. We’re tickled that after two decades of friendship we proudly witnessed their marriage, knowing their new life together will be blessed”.  Good for her.

Is it just me or do her kids want to grow up really fast?

UPDATE DECEMBER 2012:  LOOKS LIKE THE PARTY IS OVER!  DIVORCE IS ON THE HORIZON FOR THE YOUNG COUPLE.  MARRIED ONLY ONE YEAR…WOW!

RAPPER ‘COMMON’ INVITE TO WHITE HOUSE CAUSES UPROAR, BILL MAHER DEFENDS DECISION

Conservative pundits have attacked President Obama for inviting hip hop singer ‘Common’ to the White House. But Bill Maher fought back, defending the Presidents decision by calling out the opponents and suggesting it’s a racially charged debate.  Others have now joined in the debate and have begun sharing their thoughts on the topic.

CNN invited guests to discuss the debate and many had different opinions. Some feel it is inappropriate for President Obama to have Common as a guest, but their reasoning is questionable.  Others feel there is a motive behind the backlash (you can figure that one out).  Since the singer is considered to be a “clean” rapper with a fairly good reputation, the cause of the uproar is not very clear.  Common is a poetic rapper with an edge and can be controversial, but has never really been viewed as “hard-core”.

Even former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin jumped on the bandwagon, tweeting “Oh lovely, White House” and attached a link to an article critical of the event. Not sure why she would have any say, with all her “issues” seems like she may want to clean up her own act before judging others. I would actually have an issue if she was invited to the White House.

It may be best that I keep my thoughts about this to myself.  This may become a controversy, which could take a lot of time to debate, and I could go on forever.  So I will ask for your thoughts, please feel free to chime in on the matter.

What do you think?  Does President Obama need to screen his guests better?  Do you see an issue with Common visiting the White House?

SARAH PALIN TRADEMARK REJECTED

Sarah Palin is highly regarded by many for her strength and leadership (sorry not me).  However, she seemed to forget the most important thing on a simple application, her signature. The applications to trademark the names of Sarah Palin and Bristol Palin were recently rejected by the federal government because she simply forgot to sign the forms.

Great she was the Governor of Alaska and ran for Vice President of the United States and she could not complete a simple task.  While I do not like to talk politics, this was just too good to resist.  Maybe this will allow all her follower’s to step back for a moment and consider us lucky, she did not win the Vice Presidency role in the White House.  Need I say more.

MOST ADMIRED PEOPLE 2010

Oprah - Most Admired List

USA Today released it poll today on the most admired people in America. While I agree with some, others make me sick to my stomach.  Although, I am not really that into politics, common sense still makes me wonder why some on the list, even made it there.

So here we go, for most admired men, there is #1 President Obama (good choice), #2 George Bush Jr. (what the hell?), and #3 Bill Clinton (tarnished name?).  And for the most admired women , #1 Hillary Clinton (take that Bill), # 2 Sarah Palin (gag me!), #3 Oprah (ok, billionaire), and #4 Michelle Obama (good).

So most seem ok if you are into their beliefs, but can I pull two out right this minute! Sarah Palin is a nice enough lady, but I could win an election up to her any day of the week.  She has no substance, and sounds like a complete moron, in my opinion.  And George Bush could have been her brother.  He seems pretty pathetic and sounds like the female version of her in many ways.

Have we all temporarily lost our minds?  Or are we all so shallow that we now admire people with less sense than us, to feel better about ourselves?  Not sure, but cannot wait until we get our senses back, hopefully it will happen in 2011.
