CAIRO EGYPT: PRESIDENT MUBARAK CAUSES RIOTS

27 Jan

Egyptian police had to step in as tensions rose on Wednesday in Cairo.  They fired tear gas and rubber bullets into a crowd of protesters, when thousands demonstrated in Cairo Square to show their anger toward President Hosni Mubarak.

It has been reported that as many as six protesters were killed along with a police officer. Nationwide demonstrations inspired by Tunisia’s uprising, were clearly due to their requests for a way to resolve the extreme poverty and their dislike for Mubarak.

Thousands of protester’s chanted “Down with Hosni Mubarak, down with the tyrant,” “We don’t want you!”  This is a major issue and has been reported that it will cause serious damage to the eastern countries, if they don’t get this under control soon.  Let’s hope Obama does not need to step in, we have enough problems of our own.

This is such insanity. We all know there is rioting in the streets. But, here is the big Question. Who is rioting and why are they rioting?
Not once has the causation of the rioting been discussed on tv news.
It was briefly mentioned on the web that the social unrest is due to lack of jobs, money, poverty and Murbarak. I still don’t get it.
Rioting will make you less poor?
Rioting will get you a job?
I believe something else is going on behind the scenes that is not being discussed.
I believe there is a strong radical Islamist sentiment that is stoking the flames of these riots.
How much of the population is actually rioting?
    1/10 of 1%?
During the Vietnam War days, the people who took to the streets were not representative of the country. They were a small minority, but very vocal and prodded by the progressive leaning news media. The silent majority were NOT burning down government buildings William Ayers, Obama’s compadre and who visited Egypt 20 days prior to the beginning of the rioting.
This riot, is all about a larger war which is taking place all over the world.
Radical Muslim Fundamentalism wants to destroy anything American, European, Western or any country associated with them.
If Murbarak is indeed along with his government doing horrible things that the population should not tolerate, then, why isn’t it being expressed via a more reasonable verbal discourse. After several days of violence not one person has actually stepped up to indicate WHY they are rioting.
I believe that the reason you are not being told the reasons for the riots, is because, the rioting has nothing to do with anything other than overthrowing the government and replacing it with a radical Islamist government. And, when and if that occurs, the hungry people will still be hungry and the jobless will still be jobless..etc..
The people who are rioting have no idea why they are rioting. They are being used for a larger purpose.
When the American colonies began to revolt against their British rulers, they provided reason and cause for their revolt. Taxation without representation; people being arrested without due cause; property being confiscated; money being confiscated…and most importantly was that an outside government/country, (England) was controlling and oppressing the people of a country that was no longer tied to its English origination. The point being, there were reasons which were elucidated via the writings of the founders of America which were ignored by the English government.
When a basketball team in America wins the championship and then the young folks go to the streets and destroy private property, cause violence and mayhem, is there a reason? NO!
What is happening in Egypt? If you are Egyptian and have complaints, let the world know what is wrong and explain why you are rioting and give the world the facts.

you are right about somthing being hidden from the rest of the world about the reason for the riots, but to point the finger at radical islamics? as i was watchin the news as most of us were, the american embasseter said its not islamic radicals who antagonized the riots but he didnt say what started them other than public unrest. Not to mention that the only way thatwe would ever know is if we were there or talked to someone who was. For all we know a president in office for thirty years who was grooming his son to succeed him as president could have been currupt and selling his people as cheap labor or pocketing money that was suposed to be for the state either way if we didnt have a voice in government policy and found any of that happining in the states, believe there would only be riots short of a revolution.

    Richard S, thank you!
How many websites have I searched to find the reason for this riot in the first place? Not one of them has said a clear and exact answer and it’s very frustrating!
And you’ve basically explained why the reason wasn’t announced in the first place. Your reasoning is absolutely brilliant and also consistent on a fact.
I had a feeling something was strange, like the real facts are kept hidden from us. When you asked for anyone who is Egyptian, I’m afraid they are unable to tell us the answers we seek.
    Why?
Because Egypt has cut off access to the internet amid political protests. And same thing, no reason behind this has been said.
This is the fact that is consistent to your reasoning. I believe that the reason they cut off the internet in Egypt is because they ‘are’ hiding something and they don’t want us ‘outsiders’ to know anything about their issue.
Either because they don’t want us involved OR it’s because it has something to do with us and they don’t want us knowing their plans. This really scares me.
Again, it leaves me at a full stop and without an answer.
Hopefully the answers will be let known and that the rioting will end soon,
but it frustrates me that all I can do is sit and wait for the answer…

Thank you Raymond. I’m trying to keep up with it all as it unfolds. There is definitely more to the story.

Can anyone shed some light on this:
I’ve heard on Al Jazeera that the Tunesian government deliberately released prisoners in order to spread chaos by means of a “divide and conquer” strategy.
Did this happen in Egypt aswell?

    great blog.
    Peace & Love

    WHY ARE THEY RIOTING?
-During his time, Mubarak has arranged for his government to imprison political prisoners and protestors without a trial
-He has also suspended the constitutional rights of the Egyptian people, especially restricting the freedoms of speech and assembly of the people of Egypt, and the media as well
-This oppression has earned a massive amount of civil unrest, spearheaded by the underground opposition group known as the “Muslim Brotherhood.”
deep poverty and high unemployment. Obviously this guy has not been very helpful. But these riots are horrible on the economy, they are losing 300 million dollars a day.

Mr. Mubarak will not be able to use the army against the people if the soldiers, who are all drafted citizens, refuse to drive the tanks, aim their guns to fire at the people or throw grenades. I know there are soldiers in Egypt who are checking in with these blogs. Soldiers, do not fire on the people. They are coming from all walks of life. Some are probably your relatives. Do not fire. I am an American who is asking God help us through this crisis.
