2011 TOP 10 HAPPIEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, U.S. DOES NOT MAKE LIST

21 Apr

According to a recent Gallup Poll, where people were asked to rank their country, the top ten list of “Happiest Countries” was released today.  No big surprise, the U.S.did not make the list, although some seemed shocked.  But in a country where unemployment is rampant, a recession is still in place (no matter what they say), wars and divide is still going on, what do they expect?

In addition to all our other problems, with the turmoil, violence and weather devasting our country, it would have been more amazing if anyone could find a place in the U.S. filled with happiness.  But at least we ranked #12 on the list, better than not on it at all.  Well, we still have our freedom right?

The top 10 countries, when it comes to well-being:

  1. Denmark
  2. Sweden
  3. Canada
  4. Australia
  5. Finland
  6. Venezuela
  7. Israel
  8. New Zealand
  9. Netherlands
  10. Ireland

These may be good places to move to, if your happiness is important to you.  But I guess it depends on what happiness means to you…is it more money, great health, spending time with family or enjoying your friends? My choice would be living on a small private island with my own chef and a pool!

What makes you happy?

The Irish pay in cash, so they still have money under their mattress. That is why they are so happy!

Just because they are “broke” doesn’t mean they can’t be happy. Happiness isn’t all about money.
