6/9/11: CHICAGO MAN FINDS $17,000 CASH NEAR ATM, RETURNS TO POLICE

09 Jun

A Chicago resident, Robert Adams, found a bag outside an ATM this week.  When he opened it, he was surprised to find $17,000 in cash inside.  But what was more shocking is that he turned it in to police.

During these tough economic times, many are wondering if he is smart or crazy for being so honest.  Turns out a forgetful security guard forgot the bag outside of his armored truck, while servicing an ATM machine. It is still unknown if Adams will even get a reward for turning it in.

Well, I congratulate him for being honest, but it makes me wonder what I would do if it happened to me.  Still not sure my first call would be to the police, maybe a store to see if the sale was still going on!  What would you do if you found $17,000 in unmarked bills?  Turn it in or keep it?  Weigh in and let’s see how honest most people would be in this situation.

Hi. Im the man who found the money. Just to update you Loomis International, the company transporting the money called last friday and said they would be finishing up there investigation this week and would take good care of me. They thanked me for fifteen minutes for finding and returning it.

Robert, good job on being honest! Hats off to you:). In this economy, I am sure it was a tough thing to do, so hopefully they will reward you dearly! You deserve a HUGE reward, for doing the right thing. Now go play the lottery…you are owed a good deed back:). Take care.
