In a twist of fate, a dying man in Iowa suffering from throat cancer, asked a paramedic to grant him one wish in his final hours. He asked to see his beloved dog, Yurtie, before passing away. To his luck and surprise his wish was granted. It turns out his paramedic happened to work as a volunteer at the animal shelter where his dog was being held.
Kevin McClain, 57, had been separated from his dog when he became increasing ill. He was thrilled when the medic retrieved the dog and brought him back to the hospice. McClain happily reunited with Yurtie who licked his face with kisses of joy. It was a happy ending for a man who had probably spent many painful nights sleeping in his car along side his dog. At least he was able to see his loving pet in his final moments of life, he passed away three days later. Yurtie was quickly adopted.
This story goes to show, a dog truly is man’s best friend. He did not ask for his mother, father, kids, nor relatives, just his loving dog.
