So GQ Magazine has been around forever and has incredible well dressed men on its cover. But seriously, did they have to rank Chicago as the 4th worst fashion city on their recent list of “The 40 Worst-Dressed Cities in America”.
Not only did they say Chicagoan’s have no fashion sense, they went on to say it was due to our “third-coast-insecurity”. What exactly does that mean, we are insecure so we don’t know how to coordinate?
GQ also went on to criticize our winters, implying the “Windy City” wears beat down Nike’s, novelty T-shirts, torn cargos, sports hoodies with our beloved Bears, Cubs, White Sox and Blackhawks covered by parka’s almost the entire year, as though our bad fashion sense has something to do with the weather. And who owns a Parka?
But if you think about it, who wants to dress flashy when temps are below zero and the wind is whipping your hair? Anyway, a runny nose and frozen face does not look good regardless of what you’re wearing. And we are beautiful on the inside, which is what really counts right?
There is a small bit to be grateful for, Boston, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles (movie star capital) were also on the list, ranking even less fashionable than Chicago.
And at least we definitely don’t dress worse than Lady Gaga.
