BREAKING NEWS: In one of the most deadly days in Afghanistan to-date, a helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan, killing 30 Americans. It happened in the especially dangerous town of Wardak, when troops were attacked by insurgents.
Networks reported 30 troops were killed, which included 22 Navy SEALS. This special team was said to belong to the same unit that conducted the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, but they were not part of the operation.
It is a tragic story and our hearts go out to the families. The military worked diligently to quickly inform family members of their loss, to avoid mass panic.
