After eluding police for days, the “Bonnie & Clyde” wannabe siblings were finally caught today near Walsenburg, Colorado, after a shootout during a high-speed car chase. Colorado State Patrol confirmed that the three suspects known as the “Dougherty siblings” are in custody after their dramatic capture, which played out like a movie.
The two brothers and sister are accused of crimes in Florida and Georgia. It is an incredible crime due to their family ties, but the three now in custody are 21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty, 26-year-old Dylan Dougherty Stanley and 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty.
They were allegedly involved in a bank robbery and the attempted murder of a police officer. The siblings have been on the run since their crime spree, and are certain to be in “extremely hot water” now that they have been found. Their mother pleaded for them to turn themselves in, but it came down to a high-speed chase to get the job done.
While the sister was shot by police, they are all lucky they were not killed by police. Let’s hope they are given the maximum penalty, so that others don’t follow suit and think crime pays.
This is certain to be a Liftime movie…coming soon! Has everyone lost their minds?
