The Indiana State Fair was disrupted by a tragic freak accident this weekend, when a massive gust of wind hit the stage on Saturday. The force was so strong it collapsed the stage, killing 5 people and injuring at least 40 attendees.
Although a severe storm warning was issued, many failed to believe it would affect the event and attended anyway. The fair organizers apparently also did not feel it was enough of an issue to cancel the annual event.
In the above video, posted on Youtube by an attendee, you can hear the sheer terror in the voices of those who witnessed the collapse. It also shows how quickly it falls, appearing as though it is made of paper.
After the unexpected tragedy the fair did close on Sunday. Unfortunately, it was too late for the deceased and injured.
