The former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, may have been granted a lucky break. According to news reports, prosecutors are expected to drop criminal charges related to allegations that he sexually assaulted a hotel housekeeper earlier this year.
While visiting an upscale hotel in New York, housekeeper Nafissatou Diallo accused him of sexual assault. Although Strauss-Kahn was arrested, a judge released him after prosecutors learned Diallo had lied about where she went after the incident.
Although Stauss-Kahn resigned soon after the alleged assault, it appears his elite status may have helped with the outcome. It is unfortunate that his victim probably was not in the position to stand her ground. Strauss-Kahn said it was all consensual, but why would she lie?
Multiple women came forward and also accused him of the same behavior, how can he keep getting off the hook? Well at least this did stop him from becoming President. It would be creepy to have an alleged sex offender as a leader.
What do you think? Did his position allow him to avoid prosecution?
