The Bank of America Marathon this weekend had it highs and lows. Unfortunately, a man died who participated in the race and the cause of death is still unknown. On the other hand, a woman gave birth just after the race.
The man was identified as, William Caviness, 35, a captain with the Greensboro Fire Department. The firefighter reportedly collapsed in the South Loop while running the marathon and died about two hours later. It was very sad to hear, especially since he was running along with his brother.
But with death comes life. Amber Miller apparently gave birth shortly after the race, but not before grabbing a snack. After eating, she made her way to the hospital and gave birth to a baby girl. It is amazing to hear that someone who was clearly far along in her pregnancy, would run in a 26 mile race. She must have really wanted to get that baby out…wow! She even beat her husband to the finish line, even though she was 39-weeks pregnant! You go girl!
