If people are short on cash during these tough economic times, Apple is not seeing a problem. The new iPhone 4S pre-orders sold out faster than any other iPhone launch ever, with more than 200,000 orders within the first 12 hours. There is now a backorder on shipping for orders submitted today of about one to two weeks.
As with any successful sales campaigns, customers had issues with connecting to the Apple site. However, this did not seem to discourage the surge of buyers from securing the new iPhone.
Does the fact that so many people are willing to splurge on a luxury item mean the recession is really over? Or is the lack of jobs and lower pay scales meaningless when it comes to an iPhone? Not so fast..it is probably because so many people need a new phone to find the right gig.
Is Steve Jobs smiling down on this news…
