UPDATE: 12/5/11 – Reports out today say Guiliana will have a double mastectomy…very sad to hear. But we are rooting for her!

It was sad to hear that popular host of E! and reality show star Giuliana Rancic announced today that she is battling breast cancer.  Rancic made the following statement confirming the reports; “Through my attempt to get pregnant for the third time, we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer. It’s been a shock.  A lot of people have asked, we saw that you went and got IVF, are you pregnant?  But sadly, we’ve had to put that off.”

After trying for the third time to become pregnant through IVF a doctor urged her to get a mammogram. While she originally declined, she went through with the test and was surprised to find out that she had breast cancer.

Thankfully she found it early enough to recover, but will have surgery this week, followed by radiation treatment for six weeks. She is grateful she wished for a baby and went on to say; “Now I truly believe God was looking out for me. Had I gotten pregnant, a few years down the line I could have gotten sicker. So the baby saved my life.”

The 36-year-old is married to Apprentice winner Bill Rancic.  Wishing her a speedy recovery and that she pulls through as the fighter we know she is!  She is a very caring person and has many fans supporting her through this tough time.

My daughter, age 40, had her double mastectomy last week, 11/28. Today, she went back to the surgeon because she is experiencing swelling, black and blueness, heat and pain in her right side. She has clots that need to be removed so she is going back to the hospital this afternoon to be opened up again. The surgeon will clean her out and stitch her up again. She starts Chemo the end of Dec and will have reconstructive surgery next December.

My dear sweet lady, have faith in God and praise Him for being there for you and He will see you through this, giving you and your family the strength and courage to face whatever it is you all will be facing. Breast Cancer is a family disease in the sense that all family members and friends are involved and affected by it. The support you have will see you through Dear Lady.

You are in my prayers and when Dawn wakes up I will let her know what you are going through and she will contact you giving you extra encouragement and support. God Bless You sweetheart. You are LOVED. Marilyn Wiggs
