2011: BEVERLY HILLS HOUSEWIFE CHECKS INTO REHAB; KIM RICHARDS FINALLY GETS HELP

05 Dec

Kim Richards, the star of reality TV show “Real Housewives Beverly Hills”, has reportedly checked into rehab.  The 47-year-old, finally agreed to get help at a treatment center, allegedly for drug and alcohol abuse.

On the last show, Richards revealed to the husband of co-star Adrienne that she was taking medication for anxiety and depression, before receiving cosmetic procedures.  It was obvious to anyone watching the show, that she had a problem.  Kim was incoherent on many occasions, so this should not come as a surprise to anyone.

On the season finale, she had a huge fight with sister Kyle, which may have triggered her trip to rehab.  Unfortunately, until the confrontation, Kyle was your typical enabler.  She even defended Kim when confronted with her addiction by co-star Brandy.  The irrational behavior was a scream for help and she turned a blind eye.  Kim hooking up with a shady “boyfriend” then moving in with him shortly after, was her YELLING…HELP ME!

It seems as though Kyle may now owe Brandy an apology.  While it was not actually a problem with “Meth”, she was correct in acknowledging Kim’s problem with addiction.

Many of the other “housewives” could also see that Kim needed help, but never pushed hard enough.  Sometimes it takes an outsider to point out the obvious and speak out.  While they all threw Brandy under the bus when she tried to help, it may be time to praise her for her efforts.

Addiction is a serious thing and without a true family member or friend addressing the problem…change is hard to come by.  Hopefully Kim will get through rehab clean and sober.

Usually the only time someone stops the madness of drugs or alcohol, is on the verge of death or disease
