WATCH VIDEO – PIERS MORGAN LIVE- WHITNEY INTERVIEW
Rumors were whirling today, that close family members do not want Bobby Brown to attend the funeral. They apparently are not fond of Whitney Houston’s ex-husband and he allegedly is not welcomed. According to multiple sources, he is devastated to hear this news.
The private funeral will be held in Newark, New Jersey, at New Hope Baptist Church. According to the police director, only family members and close friends will be invited and no public service has been coordinated. However, in a late change of heart, the family says fans will be able to watch it live on the internet. Whitney will be buried next to her dad at a private burial.
While Bobby Brown has been accused of “turning Whitney out”, many have recently suggested otherwise. During the Piers Morgan interview on CNN, a close friend of Whitney, Billy Holliday, was quoted as saying “Whitney did drugs way before Bobby”. This makes many question whether he truly was the culprit. Their love affair was always scrutinized and seen as a “good girl” meets “bad boy.” So it was interesting to hear she allegedly was introduced to drugs before meeting him. Even I thought he was the one who corrupted sweet Whitney.
Was Bobby truly the cause of her addiction, leading to her death? Well, in reality he may have encouraged her drug use and been an enabler, but the real criminals are the doctors. Today’s stars (along with the general population) seem to be hooked on so many prescription pills, which are far worse than smoking weed or doing cocaine. It would not shock me to hear the official cause of death is the mixture of pills, prescribed by her “drug dealer” doctors.
Feeling sad…take a pill. Feeling edgy…take a pill. Feeling sleepy…take a pill. Feeling too happy…take a pill. There is a pill for everything, what happened to the “good old days”, when you just sucked it up and moved on.
There is an epidemic going on now in our country when it comes to prescription drugs. We recently lost Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Anna-Nicole Smith, and many others to these “legal” drugs. The government is quick to implement so many rules and restrictions about meaningless things, why have they not put this serious problem on the agenda. Laws about wearing a seatbelt in the back seat of a car, or labels on food packaging seem to be their priority right now. When will this issue get addressed?
In the end, it’s tragic we lost such a legendary singer. Whitney Houston was one of the greatest singers of all time. But can Bobby Brown be blamed for her death? I don’t think so. She was a strong woman and knew exactly what drugs can do and how addictive they are. However, if you want to blame anyone, it should be the doctor’s who wrote the prescriptions. When you are high on pills, it can lead you to do cocaine or other drugs, because your mind is not clear. And a mixture of drugs and alcohol is inevitable.
It would be unfortunate if the family doesn’t allow Bobby to attend the funeral. No matter how volatile their marriage, and even if he supplied her with drugs at some point, it was clear that they were madly in love. He deserves to be there no matter what…Whitney likely would have wanted it, if not only for her daughter.
Such a waste of talent…let’s hope this prescription drug problem in the U.S. gets under control soon. Or we may just lose more of our favorite people to this addiction, which is far worse than weed or alcohol.
