The murder trial for Grammy and Oscar award winner and American Idol finalist, Jennifer Hudson, began this week. Not only did she have to testify, Hudson had to relive the painful day that her 57-year-old mother, Darnell Doneroson, her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, were killed.
According to reports her former brother-in-law, William Balfour, allegedly shot her three close family members in cold blood. Hudson sat completely still and shut her eyes, as Chicago police Sgt. David Dowling testified, describing the horrific murder scene. She even had to leave the courtroom briefly to compose herself.
It is hard to imagine just how painful it must be to see graphic video and hear detailed descriptions of how your family members lost their lives. She is a strong woman and it breaks the hearts of many that Jennifer has to relive this tragedy.
What makes this case most depressing is that she lost her mom at the height of her career, and she was unable to see just how much she has achieved. It ’s obvious that painful memories have now resurfaced and the loss must be fresh in her mind again. Chicago is definitely rooting for Jennifer and hoping that justice is served in the end. Although Balfour has pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Who kills an innocent family over a woman? What a disgrace and senseless shooting…when will people learn that violence is not the answer. If you can’t cope…move on and leave the innocent victims out of your mess.
R.I.P. to her family members…and stay strong Jennifer. Chicago is standing by your side along with the world.
