2012: BRITNEY SPEARS & DEMI LOVATO NEW JUDGES ON THE X FACTOR; SIMON COWELL SAYS YOUNGER IS BETTER?

16 May

Simon Cowell finally has selected his replacement judges for “The X Factor”.  After months of combing through a long list of celebrities, including Whitney Houston, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne, he announced his new team.  He obviously has decided to take his show in a “younger” direction with his choice of judges and of course they are attractive women (not men).

Rumors were buzzing that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato would join his show, and it was officially confirmed this week.  Out with Paula Abdul and Nicole Schrewingzer (so sad) and in with newer younger versions of them both.  This actually sucks for the sexy mature women out there, but this is typical of “Hollywood” and men having a mid-life crisis.  Is this Simon saying, “sorry Paula you are now just too old for me?”

Seems that Simon has also decided to separate himself further from the other competition shows like American Idol and The Voice.  His choice of judges is definitely targeting the teen market hard and seems very deliberate.  But the other singing competition shows have older judges with more experience, so it will be interesting to see if it pays off.

It is reported that Demi has accepted a cool million and Britney walked away with a veteran deal of $15 million per season.  What’s surprising is that a 19-year-old and 30-year-old is thought to have enough experience to judge others, and are worthy of this huge payment.  I wish that was my pay scale at that age…really?

Simon, I have asked you to call me several times now.  My demands would have saved you millions…seriously, I would have worked for nearly free!  There is still time…feel free to call me Simon! 🙂
