The jury wasted no time announcing their verdict today in the trail of Jerry Sandusky. After 21-hours of deliberation the former Penn State assistant football coach was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual molestation. The charges stemmed from his obscene encounters with 10 boys over 15-years.
It seemed like the fastest trial ever and many are thrilled with the outcome. While it is tragic that one man’s disgusting act could ruin the entire reputation of Penn State, the jury made the right decision.
The most unbelievable part of the case, is how many other coaches and faculty covered up his disturbing behavior. This verdict and evidence shows that his wife may have also known about the abuse. How sick if that’s the case…no man should ever make you put blinders up when a child is being abused.
They may have swept it under the rug for many years…but the jury brought the truth to light within hours. May the boys now men, feel some type of justice on this day…because their lives were changed forever due to Sandusky.
Shame on all involved…a reputation of a school or sports team should never be a reason to sacrifice a young boys life. Thank you to the jury for getting it right.
Judge John Cleveland offered no bail…and Sandusky was handcuffed and hauled away to the slammer where he belongs. Sentencing comes in 90-days and he faces up to 442 years in prison…but this is certainly worth the death penalty.
