The news of police shooting at police today in a drug trafficking incident is amazing enough. But to hear of it happening in the busy Mexico City airport, it’s taking their wave of crime to a new level. The shootout had passengers running for cover in the food court and was like a scene in an action movie.
Three “real” federal police officers were shot dead in the middle of the chaos, by several “fake” police? Well, they were dressed in police gear, so it is still being investigated since they have not yet been caught.
Many years of violence involving drugs by the cartel has Mexico considered one of the most unsafe countries to visit (on my list). But with police now possibly involved, where do residents turn? How will this ever get under control if they are a part of the problem? Rumors of corrupt police has been going on for years.
Reporter’s and thousands of innocent victims have been brutally murdered in Mexico. It’s a frightening scene and the violence is now at a heightened level. When will it end? Probably never..based on the path they’re on at the moment.
Tragic…unfortunately drugs are a killer in more than one way.
