Travel & Leisure just published the 2011 list of America’s dirtiest cities. It brought me joy to see our beloved Chicago is just as clean as ever! The number one spot held by New York City was no big surprise…but it is still an exciting place to visit.
The annual survey is a great opportunity for readers to vote in America’s Favorite Cities survey, Travel + Leisure. They are able to rank 35 metropolitan areas in several areas such as; dining, culture, shopping, safety and of course cleanliness.
It was a bit of a shock that Atlanta was in the top five, because when I visited years ago it seemed clean. I guess dirt can pile up over years of filth not being maintained. Or maybe they counted the Atlanta Housewives as dirt? Just kidding. They moved up four spots so it seems it is getting worse instead of better.
Even Miami made the top 10, but luckily not Chicago.
