FULL VIDEO – PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 10/16/12
While the internet exploded after the Mitt Romney and President Obama second Presidential debate last night, Europe also had some thoughts. The popular Berlin newspaper B.Z. posted comments on the Romney statement about working women. Not only were many American’s offended by his “whole folder full of women” comment, it seems like others were too.
Mitt Romney is no different from most other politicians when it comes to saying extremely stupid things, but his timing is also really bad. It appears that the closer he gets to the finish line, the deeper his foot gets lodged down his throat. Does he want to lose? What decade is this anyway?
Seriously…Romney has a “women’s folder” and thinks that’s a good thing? Maybe all business owners should pull out their “women’s folders” now and begin hiring. Does Romney also have a “Minority Folder”, “Disability Folder”, “College Grad Folder”, “Low Income Folder”, and a “Been out of work for over a year folder”, if so, maybe it is time to pull those out now too. I am sure they could all use a call about a job right now.
It is clear just how important a Presidential candidate is viewed by Europe and other countries. If we are to mend relations with outside countries, it comes from the top. Their support of our U.S. President is crucial to the success of our economic outcome.
President Obama seemed to be back on his game last night, but Mitt Romney still offers no real answers on how he would take us in a better direction. His constant reminder that he “ran a company” so he “knows how to balance a budget” is beginning to unnerve me. If he believes that running a business is equal to running a nation, then he needs to re-visit the job responsibilities of a President.
The lack of straight talk from politicians probably will continue for years to come. But I would bank on someone in the current role of President, who knows the real deal behind the scenes, not someone making false promises.
How can you lower and/or cut taxes and balance a budget? If anyone has that answer, please let me know so I can get started on balancing my budget while receiving a 75% pay cut.
