The extremely close race is on…with many saying President Obama will beat Mitt Romney to the finish line. But watching the polls has had me on the edge of my seat and each time they call a state my stomach drops. However, a bigger topic should be the insane budget apparently needed to win the race.
It is amazing how nearly one BILLION was spent on the race to the White House. In the days of the internet you would think they would spend less money than in years past. This seems like a complete waste to dump so much cash into one campaign. Imagine how much that could have helped the millions affected by Storm Sandy, or the dent it could put in the deficit.
While ads do seem to work, there definitely needs to be a cap on spending when it comes to elections. It is disgusting to think about how many people are homeless or starving as they dish out so much to win a race.
With the amount of FREE social media it seems like they could find better ways to reach voters without this ridiculous spending. And why did they keep asking for donations just days before the election? Did they really need more? How much could they spend on advertising at that late timeline. Seriously???
Who will win the election? It is too close to call as of now, but let’s hope they add a cap on election spending to the ballot next time. Even other candidates spent as much as $100 million to win smaller races. It seems completely stupid to pay that much for a job.
Let’s see, the Presidential Candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win…so they paid how much for each one? Do the math.
Final Electoral Votes…Obama 303….Romney 206.
UPDATE: PRESIDENT OBAMA WINS ELECTION…ROMNEY GOES BACK TO THE TANNING BED.
