The X Factor was down to the last four remaining contestants tonight.  They got to perform on the magical 12/12/12 which some believe is the luckiest day of the year.  The possible finalist are down to Tate Stevens, Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Emblem3 fighting for a spot in the finals.

Tonight the first song was chosen by the contestants and the second was picked in collaboration with their mentor’s.  It was down to song choice, which could make or break their chances of winning the 5 million dollar recording contract.

It was Tate Stevens who hit the stage first.  He is clearly not going home tomorrow and both of his song selections put him one step closer to winning.  While country music is extremely popular and has die-hard fans, he has a great shot of beating out Carly.

Carly Rose Sonenclar followed him and as usual was true perfection.  Although she dropped down to the number two position on the ranking chart last week, she continues to be my number one contestant all the way. Absolutely loved both of her song choices; her voice is unique and she sings with a lot of passion. There is nothing she can do wrong and if it were up to me, they could end it now and crown her the winner.  Simon was extra critical…what’s up with that?  Oh, that’s right…he wants to win!

The popular boy group Emblem3 also performed great and looked more like they did in the early rounds. They gave it their all and you could see they really want it bad.  But they may have a huge battle ahead, because the girl group gave them a run for their money tonight.

If the underdogs “Fifth Harmony” have a wish on this special day, they can hold on to their song selection by Ellie Goulding,”Anything Could Happen”.  Because it truly can at this point.  It was by far their best performance and showed the world they deserve to be in the finals.  I loved their performances and they looked as though a light was turned on around them…they truly shined.  Happy they went back to their original magical song “Impossible“, and with a bit of Spanish…muy bueno!

This was the best final four of any singing competition so far…which leaves the door open and really does mean anything could happen.  But it is clear, Carly and Tate should have a golden ticket into the finals if the fans actually cast their votes.  When it comes down to Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony, it is a complete toss-up.

They all gave stellar performances tonight.  However, in my humble opinion, the finals should end up with the top three being Carly Rose, Tate and Fifth Harmony.  Sorry Emblem3 fans…but I think their plane has landed!

On another note; Khloe definitely fired her stylist, she looked amazing.  But the bad news is that after hearing they gave Cheryl Cole a $100,000 annual clothing allowance for wardrobe, it’s so disappointing how tacky Britney and Demi look.  Well, at least Simon has tossed his white t-shirts!

So excited for tomorrow night…BRUNO MARS performs!

I agree with you that Brittney is not up to par as being a judge. She favoritism Carly and she did not like what Simon comment on Carly performance. I hope Brittney is not on the upcoming season next year because she will only favoritizm.

Carly’s first song last night is one of my favorites from Elton John. What a performance. She made it her own special. On her second song, we may sometimes not like what Simon says but he knows his stuff. “Imagine” is a beautiful song that does not need all the fuss. That said, I thought it was good to showcase Carly on the piano.

I do agree that Simon knows a lot about performance but I feel Carly should had been left the show. Even though she has a nice voice, you need feelings for the song you singing and I have not seen it yet.
