12/16/12: SANDY HOOK CT SCHOOL SHOOTING; VICTIMS’ NAMES RELEASED TO PUBLIC TODAY…TRAGIC.

December 16, 2012

child photoTragic.  Is the only word to describe the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut this week.  The thought of innocent children being killed by a lone 20-year-old psychopath is unimaginable.  But now there is a name attached to each victim, which makes it even harder to bear.

Some would have preferred shooter, Adam Lanza, was still alive to give insight into why he would harm precious children and faculty…I’m glad he’s not.  There is nothing he could say to vindicate his actions, nor offer comfort to the families.  It is best to have this deranged killer off this earth.

The deadliest shooting in U.S. history will hold firm in the mind of all American’s and many around the world for an eternity.  This travesty has caused many parents to hug their children just a bit tighter.

In looking at my photo posted above, I was exactly 7-years-old at that time.  This too was a holiday and I remember feeling excited to experience the joy of the day.  These children must have also felt that excitement with the holidays upon us.  It is an age of innocence and trust, which has also been taken from the surviving children.  It’s hard to imagine a life being lost just has it has begun to live and learn.

Police authorities released the full list of names today along with age and gender.  There were 8 boys, 12 girls and 6 female adults who lost lives in this horrible massacre.  Police believe Adam also killed his mom, Nancy Lanza, who was found shot to death in her Newtown home Friday.

What a sad day for us all…to the friends, families, and survivor’s may they find comfort in each other and the support of the world.

On another note; let’s hope this has no connection with the “end of the world”, which many believe will come on 12/21/12.  It is strange we first had storm Sandy…now Sandy is the name of the school.  Is this a sign?

This is above all the saddest post. Sandy Hook needs to know how much America and even the World loves them. I am so sad this happened to such innocence. GOD Bless. Love, Jo.

Let us have hope that our Government now makes it more difficult to have such deadly assault weapons. There is no need for these weapons to be made available to the general public. I am not a President Obama fan, however, my opinion changed somewhat after I saw a tear. We need to abolish assault weapons to the general public.

I agree! Assault rifles are not made for regular people. They need to get these guns off the street ASAP!

Keep me posted for upcoming peaceful protests. Thank you brittaj for your website. I appreciate you and agree with your morals. Prayers for Connecticut..and Our Country too, as these random shootings are becoming more commonplace. Have a safe and blessed holiday season. Jo
