The Golden Globes aired last night and fans definitely tuned in to check out the stars. It was an exciting night, likely due to the high quality of television shows now being offered and incredible films nominated. According to the Nielson early ratings…nearly 20 million tuned in Sunday.
It was great to see many of my favorites were nominated and some even walked away with an award. Seriously, we have Homeland (amazing!), The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire, The Game, Django Unchained, Argo, and the list goes on.
But one of the highlights of the show, was when former President Bill Clinton hit the stage. The stars were clearly surprised and gasped in amazement as they gave him a standing ovation. However, it still shocks me to this day; that a man with such inappropriate behavior while in office, could get so many props. Guess he is just a cool likable ex-Prez…funny they announced him as “the husband of Hillary Clinton“.
The most notable and worthy awards (in my opinion) were those won by Quentin Tarantino (Django), Christoph Waltz (Django), Claire Danes (Homeland), Damian Lewis (Homeland), Julianne Moore (Game Change) and Ben Affleck (Best Director Argo), so in your face Academy Awards…not even nominated? Come on, this dude deserved it! No prob…who needs an Oscar when you can have a Globe.
