George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the senseless shooting and killing of Trayvon Martin today. It took the jury, of all women, over 16 hours to come up with a verdict that stunned the nation. Although the prosecution sometimes seemed weak and was not compelling during cross examinations…it’s still a shocking outcome.
It is very disappointing, but rest assured Zimmerman will never be a free man again. While he may not be headed to the slammer, know that his life has changed forever. The redeye out of the country may be his best option for living a normal life going forward.
Let’s hope we do not see riots similar to those after the O.J. Simpson verdict was read. They cannot change the verdict nor bring Trayvon back…so supporters should just keep in mind that a jail cell is not needed to imprison a person. Zimmerman has to live with his actions for the rest of his life…and it won’t be a restful one.
On another note, why would the prosecution fire the IT Manager while the jury was still deliberating? It seems pretty stupid to me….they could not wait a couple of days? So he helped blow their case…but seriously they should have waited.
Should we respect the jury’s verdict? While I understand how they got there….in my opinion Zimmerman should have at least gotten manslaughter.
R.I.P. TRAYVON…YOU DID NOT DIE IN VAIN. TRUST THAT YOUR VOICE WILL BE HEARD FOR DECADES TO COME.
