The news anchor at KTVU is probably taking a bottle of Zanax as this blog is being written. During a news report of the recent Asiana plane crash, which killed 3 passengers, she read a script verbatim. Apparently someone behind the scenes did not check facts properly about the pilot names and she repeated the fake names live on the air.
Over 9 million have viewed the now viral Youtube video, but it’s no joke. The embarrassing move has caused Asisana Airlines and others to prepare lawsuits against the news outlet. CHECK OUT THE NAMES ON THE SCREEN…WOULD YOU HAVE FIGURED IT OUT?
This goes to show, many anchors are just talking heads. Had she paid attention to what she was saying, it would have been obvious the names were clearly a bad prank. News outlets also have several pre-screening checks to avoid this chaos. What went wrong?
KTUV news allegedly reported that the facts were checked, but apparently by an inexperienced intern on the other end of the phone. Some are just not buying that story….since there are strict rules in place for confirming deaths in crashes.
Who would pull such a sick prank? Someone clearly going straight to hell. As for the anchor, not sure if she will ever work on air again…but is it her fault?
