[VIDEO] WHO WON ‘THE VOICE’ 2013? RECAP & REVIEWS…AND THE WINNER IS?

So who won “The Voice” 2013?  Well, first let me start with just how much I enjoyed the finale.  It was full of excitement and guest performances which were flawless.

My personal favorite was the performance by WORLD renowned artist Lady Gaga!  I wondered how she would pull off her mega hit Do What You Want without R. Kelly, but her replacement, Christina Aguilera, did it justice.  They rocked it….and it was purely entertaining.  If you missed it, check out the video below…it will blow your mind!

The collaboration of Celene Dion and Tessanne Chin was my second favorite performance.  It was obvious this finalist was in awe singing with such a superstar.

When the top contestants joined the three finalists, Jacquie Lee, Will Champlin and Tessanne Chin
this was also jaw dropping.  They were all so good!  It reminded me just how much talent was unveiled this season on The Voice.

In the end, it was no surprise that the clear favorite won ‘The Voice’.  Yes, it was Tessanne Chin….Yes she deserved it…Yes she is already a SUPERSTAR…Yes, she was my pick to WIN.  This was a no brainer…she is seasoned, flawless and pure perfection. Jamaica was certainly cheering for her…I could hear them all the way in CHICAGO!

Very happy that ‘Team Adam’ finally beat out Blake Shelton…was getting a bit tired of his bragging.  Maybe Blake will be a bit more reserved next season!  Now Mr. Levine can be the “Sexiest Man Alive” AND The Voice winner!

Great job to the producers…by far their BEST finale yet. However, I do have one question for them.  Why would they shove a mic in the hands of the winner and make them sing after telling them they won?  How crazy is that!  She could barely get the notes out….surprised she even remembered the lyrics:).

On another note, I am really happy to see Christina in a more humble light.  At least this year it is not ALL ABOUT HER.  Maybe her new confidence since slimming down has brought our her “better side”. She normally annoys me…:).

COMPARE THE DUET WITH THE LADY GAGA & R. KELLY VERSION BELOW….THOUGHTS?

(VIDEO) WHO WON THE VOICE 2013? YOUNGEST CONTESTANT DANIELLE BRADBERY OF COURSE!

The Voice season 4 was full of talented singers and the season finale did not disappoint.  It probably was no surprise that the youngest contestant, 16-year-old Danielle Bradbery, ran away with the prize.  This gave Blake Shelton a “three-peat” which sort of annoyed me.  He already seems to have a huge ego, so this just makes it bigger.

While the final stretch included, The Swon Brothers and Michelle Chamuel, who were equally talented, a young fresh face is probably what the producers were pushing to win.  Bradbery may have had the teen voter’s backing her and texting away, but I do believe the show has some influence on the outcome.  Well, at least Michelle came in second place, giving Usher runner-up status.

It was a great finale with guest performances by incredible artists including; Bruno Mars, Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera, and legendary singers Bob Seger and Cher.  Yes, you heard it right!  After 10 years she came out with the full 80’s gear and a hit song, targeting a younger audience.  Was it just me or did Cher look a bit too much like she was trying to go back 30 years?  And is Bruno a hit maker or what?  Love his new song Treasure….it is exactly what he is!

The finale raked in over 12 million viewers and was entertaining, but the loss of Usher and Shakira next season may take a toll.  It really did not seem to have the same impact this year and was down 1%, but bringing back Cee Lo and Christina Aguilera is not the answer.

Are reality singing competitions flooding the airwaves and burning us out quickly?  Not sure, but I do believe the numbers are on a downturn for most singing competition shows, which means viewers may have had enough of American Idol, The Voice, America’s Got Talent and The X Factor.  How many singers can one take watching during a year?

Do you think singing competitions are on the way out?  Chime in below.

[VIDEO] 6/10/13: THE VOICE RECAP; MICHELLE CHAMUEL CLARITY BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT

WHO WON THE VOICE 2013?  CLICK HEREhttps://brittaj17.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/video-who-won-the-voice-2013-youngest-contestant-danielle-bradbery-of-course/

The Voice is down to the top five contestants and last night they did not disappoint.  The remaining singers include; Danielle Bradbery, Michelle Chamuel, Amber Carrington, Sasha Allen, and the Swon Brothers.

It still shocks me that the list does not include Michael Jackson’s former back-up singer, Judith Hill.  It probably was good the storm knocked out my cable on the night she was eliminated, because she was my front-runner to win.  Watching her leave would have sickened me…but she will surely have a long career.

Usher started the show with a performance of his new hit song “Twisted“, which reminded me of the new Justin Timberlake song.  While I prefer his more soulful songs but it did add a new flavor to his long list of chart topper’s.

Although they all were consistent and performed well, there were a few standouts.  Personally for me, it made it clear who should head to the finals next week.  The Swon Brothers rendition of “Danny’s Song” was amazing, and for the first time they actually proved to me they deserve to be there.  Sasha Allen has always been a favorite of mine, but her singing the Donna Summer classic “Bad Girls“, sealed the deal.  It was absolutely her best performance to date; she showed energy and looked like a super star.

However, to my surprise, Michelle Chamuel stole the night singing the new smash “Clarity” by Zedd featuring Foxes.  It is one of the best songs of the year and she blew it out the water.  Early on, while I appreciated her pure raw talent, it was not clear to me if she would last.  But if you woke up with that song in your head, you are not alone.  She rocked it and was in zone which should propel her to the finals.  It was the BEST performance of the night, hands down. The above Youtube official video for Clarity already had over 12 million views, but has already received about 100,000 more since last night.  Thank you Michelle:).

Those performances were the my favorites, but still do not take away from the other two singers Danielle Bradbery and Amber Carrington’s flawless vocal abilitiesThey also did a great job, but ranked slightly below the other contestants. Amber rocked the Katy Perry hit “Firework and Danielle crushed “Please Remember Me“.

If I were to bet, The Swon Brothers, Michelle Chamuel, and Sasha Allen are your top three and it would not shock me if any of them were to run away with the prize in the end.  But as of now, Michelle just may have a chance to win it all.  That would be a HUGE kudos to all the nerds around the world.  I would just hope that she’d invest in some new glasses that don’t cover her entire face.

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE VOICE?  TAKE THE POLL BELOW AND CHIME IN.  AND MAKE SURE TO COMPARE MICHELLE’S VIDEO BELOW TO THE ORIGINAL ABOVE…YOU DECIDE.

5/8/13: THE VOICE VS. IDOL; WHAT DID YOU WATCH TONIGHT? WHO WENT HOME ON THE VOICE?

The Voice went head-to-head with American Idol tonight.  According to early feedback, it appears that the new singing competition, The Voice, may be the winner.  They were smart to add another day and go against their rival on Fox. Tomorrow’s ratings should show a new leader in front of the original master of creating instant super stars.

While Idol was the one who opened the door for signing competition shows, it looks like The Voice may be the one to close it.

I watched both shows and although the earlier seasons of The Voice left me annoyed, the new addition of Usher and Shakira have me watching.  It is far better now that Christina Aguilera has left.

Curious to see the ratings tomorrow….but no doubt Idol will get crushed.  What did you watch?

On another note, if Judith Hill does not win The Voice I will eat 50 Portillo’s hotdogs.  Oh wait…that would be a good thing!   Who went home tonight?  Check it out here…at Thevoice.com.

[VIDEO] 4/15/13: THE VOICE RECAP & REVIEW; BATTLE ROUND BEGINS; JUDITH HILL & KARINA INGLESIAS BEST OF THE NIGHT

Today may be the dreaded income tax deadline…basically time to pay Uncle Sam.  But at least we had something to look forward to…the battle rounds on The Voice.  It is a simple recap and review, basically the show did not begin until 1 hour and 51 minutes into it.

The best battle was by far the last one; between rocker music teacher Karina Inglesias and Michael Jackson protégé, Judith Hill.  Singing the James Brown classic “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” they blew away the competition and showed it is definitely nothing without a woman. Although Adam Levine selected Judith, it was no surprise that Shakira used the steal to snatch up Karina.  If you missed it…better check it out on Youtube when they post it.

While the battle rounds is not my favorite part of the show, they made it worth watching.  They showcased them  last, because they were clearly the best.  No other battle came close and most other contestants were lackluster for the most part.

One of these extremely talented singers should find themselves in the finals, or even the winner of The Voice.  If Judith Hill is not in the finals I will definitely eat my socks and my shoes.

2013: THE VOICE CRUSHES AMERICAN IDOL; IS NICKI MINAJ THE DOWNFALL?

shakira

The addition of Shakira and Usher on the new season of The Voice is more than refreshing.  It also seems to have pushed their ratings through the roof.  Is it just me or did Christina Aguilera leaving revive the show?  Not sure, but I am certainly enjoying it 100% more this year and think it was the best move of any singing competition show.

It appears that a replacement may be something for American Idol to consider.  In my opinion, it would probably help with their faltering ratings if they canned Nicki MinajAccording to some reports, they are down 10 million viewers since 2011.  Some may argue that they now have more competition and have been on the air for over a decade, but I believe Nicki and Mariah were bad choices.

While Nicki does at least provide more constructive feedback than the other judges, her nasal voice and attitude unnerves me.  If the show finds itself on the canceled list, surely she will have something to do with it.  How I miss Jennifer Lopez!

The Voice not only crushes American Idol when it comes to their judging panel, this season the talent is undeniably better.  It is still early, but the singers have already blown me away. To break it down….The Voice has better judges….check.  The Voice has better singers…check.  The Voice has a better concept…check.

I must admit The Voice originally was not my favorite singing competition, but I absolutely love the new judges! Shakira is supportive and offers Latino’s a great opportunity and Usher is just well….sexy.

It’s pretty bad when you fast forward through most singers, like I do when watching American Idol now.  Let’s face it they increased the votes to 50 per person to make it seem like millions more are voting.  Do they think the viewers are stupid?

What do you think?  Which is the better show?  Should Nicki go? Don’t forget to vote and check out the ratings listed below.

[VIDEO] THE VOICE RECAP & REVIEW 3/25/13; USHER & SHAKIRA GREAT ADDITION; JUDITH HILL CLEAR WINNER

The Voice season 4 aired on 3/25/13 with a bang!   It was a positive change with the new addition of Usher and Shakira.  This was the best move they could have made and for once it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

It opened with amazing talent which continued through the end of the show; when Michael Jackson’s personal tour selection artist hit the stage.  Judith Hill was to join his “This Is It” tour before his untimely death and she proved why she was chosen, during her performance.   If Judith does not win “The Voice”, I will eat my shoes.

While it is still early in the competition, I cannot imagine anyone showing as much potential as this obvious star.  She was truly incredible singing “What A Girl Wants“….if you were not blown away, your ears were plugged.  It was no surprise all four judges turned their chairs around.  Lucky for Adam Levine…he beat them all out and guaranteed a win for this season!

The undeniable star quality of this year’s contestants will certainly give “American Idol” a run for the money.  But what will give the show an extra boost is the new judging panel; who are much more likable.  It was great to see Christina Aguilera gone and Usher blew away Cee Lo Green.

Thank goodness for the shift…it is absolutely set to record on my DVR!  If you missed her singing audition, check out the video below and share your thoughts.

On another note; I was not mad at Usher’s obvious error in calling Nashville a state…@$#% happens!
