The infamous Dr. Jack Kevorkian, has died at the age of 83-years-old. His attorney told the press that on Friday, a clot from his leg released and then lodged into his heart. He went on to say, “It was peaceful. He didn’t feel a thing”. This is ironic since a peaceful passing is what he wanted for many, whom he helped during his assisted suicide stint in the 90’s.
Dr. Kevorkian was well-known for his heavily publicized court case, where he admitted to assisting at least 130 people with their suicide. He was an advocate of assisted suicide, helping critically ill people end their life, upon request. When authorities found out about his passion for assisting, he was arrested and spent 7-years in prison for second-degree murder, but was released in 2007.
He died at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where his nurses played his favorite classical music as he passed away. The doctor had been hospitalized during the past month for pneumonia and kidney failure.
Al Pacino earned multiple awards for his portrayal of Dr. Kevorkian in the documentary, “You Don’t Know Jack”, which was about his life, and detailed the techniques and reasoning for helping so many in pain.
