The Billboard Music Awards were held on May 19, 2013. It was an exciting show with stellar performances in spite of the weak host Tracy Morgan. Although Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift (loved it), Will i am, Nicki Minaj (or bitchy Minaj…NASTY!), Neo, David Guetta, and many other fan favorites rocked It…but two definitely stood out..
Don’t get me wrong they ALL were definitely at the top of their game. However, my personal favorite two performances of the night were given by Bruno Mars and Miguel. It is unfortunate that Bruno Mars does not seem to get the FULL props he deserves, he is amazingly talented and a hit maker. No worries…his time is coming, loved his song Treasure. And for those not yet familiar with Miguel, mark my words, he will be as big as Michael Jackson down the road (ok maybe close).
It was their best produced show in years and they get an A+ for entertainment value. This show offered incredible music, performed by some of the most creative artists of this decade. It is about time that…true artistry is FINALLY BACK!
Obviously, additional highlights included the guest appearance by Madonna for her Top Tour Award and Prince for his Icon Award. They are both icons new singers aspire to be in the future….and are living legends for sure. Prince is just too damn cool and he actually PERFORMED! Not feeling the FRO nor the rock style arrangement..but still love him for life.
On another note; it was funny to see JLO have a boot malfunction. Some poor fashion designer will be FIRED today. But I have to say, she still jammed it and worked it out! It was also still better than the Janet Jackson upper body flash.
And kudos to Justin Bieber… first artist under 19-years-old having 5 number ones on the Billboard 100 is INSANE! His Milestone Award was well-deserved. Did they BOO Bieber? Bring him up to bring him down…shameful! From Youtube to mega fame…is a GREAT JOB! BTW…does Bieber look like Robin Thicke now? I’m just saying!
AND THE BILLBOARD ARTIST OF THE YEAR GOES TO….Taylor Swift.
