Big Brother continues to take away our power in the U.S. Rules and restrictions keep piling up and “Land of the Free” is turning into “Land of the Handcuffs”. Next year Illinois residents will have to brace themselves for two new laws which take effect early 2012.
Beginning January 1, 2012, all back seat passengers will be required to wear a seatbelt. Buses and cabs are exempt, but this is probably when you need them most! They claim it is designed to increase safety on the roads, but in reality it’s just another way to increase revenue in this financially depressed state. And who gets the $25 ticket? The passenger if they are of adult age!
Starting January 2, 2012, the other new law will require computers and electronics be disposed of at recycling centers. Sanitation workers have been instructed to leave them behind if left on the curb for pick-up. They say fines will likely not be enforced by police (in the beginning), however, you could be hit with a $25 fine if reported. Trust me…they will stick us with a ticket for sure.
Am I the only one feeling like we are headed toward a militant country? It seems like the government, slowly but surely, keeps imposing restrictions to control our every move. Is this all for a safer and greener world…highly unlikely. Is it time to move to North Korea? Well, maybe not just yet. But also be prepared to pay more for Illinois Tolls and Meters too!
If you live outside of Illinois watch out…Big Brother goes EVERYWHERE! He’s probably headed your way.
