7/25/11 VIDEO: PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEECH CUTS OFF THE BACHELORETTE; IT WAS WORTH IT!

PRESIDENT OBAMA cut off the Bachelorette during a very crucial conversation between Ashley and Constantine. This may have frustrated some of the younger generation, but it was worth it. The President spoke to the nation about raising the debt ceiling and made some very valid points. If these politicians cannot come together and figure out a solution we are all going to be on the brink of collapse.

In summary and reading between the lines; he said, come together Democrats and Republicans or we are in imminent danger and certain to see a quick demise.  Well, not quite his exact words, but he certainly looked worried.  No jokes tonight, he knows we are in big trouble.

Why are they so concerned about the rich anyway?  In the end, if the wealthy have to give up a bit more of their millions, they will still be able to eat extravagant meals and go on luxury vacations.  It wouldn’t put a dent in their pockets.  Do you believe Oprah, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg or any of the other billionaires really care if they have to dig deeper?  It is the middle and lower class who always feel the crunch.  Every little bit feels like a sharp knife in our sides.  Do they care?  No, they are too concerned about losing their loyal rich contributors.

While spending is clearly out-of-control, it has been that way for decades.  If the President is saying this is a crisis, we better believe it is even worse than we can imagine.  They usually never tell us the full truth about what’s really going on, to prevent a mass panic.  But it’s clear, if this does not get resolved we are certain to sink fast.

When will they put politics in check and leave their egos at the door.  We had to make tough decisions, which were not always what we wanted during this recession, so why can’t they?  It is time the put their heads together and solve the problem, that is why we voted for them right?

The Bachelorette was interrupted for good reason, but many are watching the show to bury the fear that our livelihood is in the hands of these politicians.  Let’s hope they come together and stop acting so stubborn, we need a solution and we need it now.  If we cannot pay our bills, the U.S. will cause a worldwide crisis.

(VIDEO) 2011 OPRAH INTERVIEWS TORTURED CHILD LOCKED IN CLOSET, CLAYTON SPEAKS OUT

WATCH CHILLING VIDEO ON OPRAH

Today OPRAH interviewed Clayton, who is now a young vibrant 19-year-old.  But when he was only 6-years-old, his torture at the hands of his parents made national news.

Back in 1999, Clayton was severely abused by his parents who chained him in a closet and did unthinkable things to him for several months. The small child was starved, beaten, fed soap, and tortured at the hands of his dad and stepmother. Details of his abuse were outlined during his compelling interview with Oprah. Clayton was also reunited with the officer who rescued him long ago.

Clayton was rescued by an incredible officer, Deputy Todd Pate, over 13-years ago when his gut told him something was terribly wrong.  The officer was smart enough to know the social worker who visited the home, reporting all was fine, was horribly mistaken.  At the time officer Pate was only 28-years-old, but had the insight to go with his instinct, which is amazing.  When the step-sister of the small boy ran away, officer Pate asked the parents to pick her up, knowing they would bring their little boy.  The trap worked and he was able to obtain details of the abuse from the child and quickly arrested the parents.

It is unbelievable that the after all the torture Clayton had to endure, the parents were given mild sentences.  The parents Joseph and Carmen Grad, only served a small portion of their sentence in jail. The father spent only 21 months of his 4 year sentence in jail and the stepmother did even less time.  If this had happened now, they would have received a much tougher penalty.

What a sad story of abuse and torture of an innocent child.  It is hard to believe the state of mind someone has to be in, to harm a child especially at this level.  At that age, there is clearly no reason on earth that he could have done anything at all, to deserve such abuse.

It was disturbing to hear his story, but hopefully it will allow others in similar situations to speak out and get help.  We know children are tortured and abused every day. Maybe others will look for abuse happening in their community and report it…better safe than sorry.

Hats off to the officer for doing the right thing and digging deeper to save him. Hats off to Clayton for sharing his story to help others.  Hats off to the family member who adopted him.  Hats off to Oprah for allowing him to speak.

MOST ADMIRED PEOPLE 2010

Oprah - Most Admired List

USA Today released it poll today on the most admired people in America. While I agree with some, others make me sick to my stomach.  Although, I am not really that into politics, common sense still makes me wonder why some on the list, even made it there.

So here we go, for most admired men, there is #1 President Obama (good choice), #2 George Bush Jr. (what the hell?), and #3 Bill Clinton (tarnished name?).  And for the most admired women , #1 Hillary Clinton (take that Bill), # 2 Sarah Palin (gag me!), #3 Oprah (ok, billionaire), and #4 Michelle Obama (good).

So most seem ok if you are into their beliefs, but can I pull two out right this minute! Sarah Palin is a nice enough lady, but I could win an election up to her any day of the week.  She has no substance, and sounds like a complete moron, in my opinion.  And George Bush could have been her brother.  He seems pretty pathetic and sounds like the female version of her in many ways.

Have we all temporarily lost our minds?  Or are we all so shallow that we now admire people with less sense than us, to feel better about ourselves?  Not sure, but cannot wait until we get our senses back, hopefully it will happen in 2011.
