The tragic story of the young expectant couple, Nachman and Raizy Glauber, killed earlier this week was shocking. The 21-year-old’s were on their way to the hospital to give birth to their first child. While riding in the taxi; pregnant mom and her husband were struck by BMW and died soon after the accident . Although their baby was saved after the crash, unfortunately, the newborn died a day later. The infant boy was laid to rest on Monday.
Well, today police authorities announced the arrest of the man suspected of fleeing the scene. Julio Acevedo, 44, was arrested at a convenience store, in northeastern Pennsylvania, after a friend helped arrange his surrender to police.
News reports suggest, Acevedo, was recently booked for a DUI and spent 10 years in prison for murder. Apparently he was jailed in the 1990s for manslaughter after he was convicted of shooting Kelvin Martin. It’s rumored that Martin was the inspiration for the name, “50 Cent”, which rapper Curtis Jackson uses as his stage name.
This is one of the saddest stories in recent memory and it is good he was arrested. However, news of his capture cannot soften the pain the family is feeling over this horrific loss. Shame on him if he was drinking again and that he fled the scene. Lock him up again…and throw away the key.
If nothing else gets him sober…this horrible outcome will.
