2011 TOP TEN WORKOUT SONGS FOR DECEMBER; ACCORDING TO RUN HUNDRED

If you are in the process of working off that holiday turkey, the list of most popular workout songs for December has just been released.  According to votes placed at Run Hundred–the web’s most popular workout music blog, the Top Ten songs are listed below, so get out your gear!

The Top 10 Workout Songs For December

Given that they’ve both passed on now, it’s been a surprise to see both The King and his son-in-law (The King Of Pop) drop club hits this month. Elvis turns up in a remixed version of “Suspicious Minds.”  It’s the latest in a series of re-worked Elvis tracks that began appearing after Junkie XL had a crossover hit with “A Little Less Conversation” from Ocean’s Eleven.  And, Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” also gets the remix treatment—though the changes are subtle—as part of the new MJ-themed Cirque du Soleil production Immortal.

Other highlights from the top 10 include Katy Perry’s latest single, two tracks featuring Lil Jon, and a curious collaboration between Will.I.Am, J-Lo, and Mick Jagger.

Here’s the full list:

Calvin Harris – Feel So Close (Benny Benassi Remix) – 131 BPM

Katy Perry – The One That Got Away – 135 BPM

Elvis Presley – Suspicious Minds (Can’t Walk Out Remix) – 121 BPM

Michael Jackson – Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ (Immortal Version) – 123 BPM

LMFAO & Lil Jon – Shots (Dummejungs Remix) – 128 BPM

Rihanna & Jay-Z – Talk That Talk – 84 BPM

Will.I.Am, Mick Jagger & Jennifer Lopez – T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever) – 106 BPM

Alexandra Stan – Mr. Saxobeat (Maan Studio Remix) – 126 BPM

Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki & Lil Jon – Turbulence – 129 BPM

(VIDEO) 2011: AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT LAUREN ALAINA FORGETS NATIONAL ANTHEM; SO WHAT!

AMERICAN IDOL contestant Lauren Alaina will not forget this Thanksgiving Day for a very long time.  During the opening of the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game, she forgot part of the lyrics to the National Anthem.

To her defense, who really cares?  She just joins the long list of stars who have also forgotten the words.  And I have to admit, it loses me at “Oh say can you see”.  How many can actually sing the entire song without forgetting any of the words?  Can you?   Check out the lyrics after you try singing it right now.

Lauren, no worries…your fans will still love you no matter what!  Don’t let those critics get to you, they probably can’t get through it without messing up either.  And to keep this in perspective you are only 17-years-old, others have had decades to learn it!

Keep your sunshine smile and move on.  It’s not the first time nor the last, that someone will slip singing the lyrics to our treasured National Anthem.

I know this may anger some die-hard American’s, but life is too short to worry about a song.  Knowing the lyrics does not make you love your country anymore than the next guy.

(VIDEO) 2011 CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE ROCKS; BUT NOT FOR KIDS

CALL OF DUTY MW3 VIDEO

It probably will surprise you that I really enjoy my new game Call of Duty MW3 (Modern Warfare).  Although I’m certainly not in the demographics for the game, I truly do believe the top-selling game of all time, is worth every penny and the hype.  Yes…I’m a “gamer”.

My only complaint is that I got through the missions in just two days, playing at mid-level.  I wanted more because it is awesome and the new weapons rock!  But no worries, I will go back and play in the advanced level.  There are a few tricks that may get you stumped, but when using your common sense, it is simple to figure out what to do.

However, if you are considering buying this game as a stocking stuffer for your young teen, you may want to think twice.  It is brutal, raw, bloody and really made for 18 and older.  If young minds are corrupted by this violence, they could lash out in the wrong way.  Sorry teens, but it really is a game for adults only.

In testing the online multi-player feature, I was surprised to find a limited amount of players on-line last night.  Maybe I was in the wrong game because the last version, Call of Duty Black Ops, had a lot of people available to share shots with at all hours of the night.

If you are a fan of Call of Duty, this is a game you will want to buy!

CHECK OUT THE ABOVE VIDEO…YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT THE CAST!

EMPIRE AVENUE BECOMING THE NEW VIRTUAL STOCK MARKET SENSATION

Empire Avenue is becoming a huge hit and is taking off with big companies. The fairly new website is a stock market simulation social network game, which allows users to buy and sell shares of people and websites.  Although it launched in February 2010 by invitation-only in a beta format, it was released to the public in July 2010.

Right now registration and game play is free, but with it’s recent rise in membership, that is likely to change. Social networks supported by Empire Avenue include Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, LinkedIn and the player’s own blog and RSS feeds, but more are signing up daily.

In summary the way it works is players have their own portfolio in a virtual economy.  Pricing of a player’s share depends on the ticker’s stock buying and selling, along with social networking activity.  It is kind of like the stock market, where the players then can have multiple investors, which will garner them a higher share price.  They can also invest in other players. Players win Achievements, by advertising and adding services such as Twitter, and they gain dividends from the other shares in players they invest in.

Similar to other social media games, Empire Avenue uses virtual currency called Eaves as a means of purchasing shares in other players. The founder and CEO of Empire Avenue, Duleepa “Dups” Wijayawardhana, said eventually they will introduce features that will allow players to exchange Eaves for real-world rewards.

It sounds a bit like on-line gambling if you ask me, some may get addicted so hopefully they will keep the currency virtual, and make money on advertising.  Pretty cool concept, I hope someone invests in me!

Looking to use non-virtual money, it may be time to invest in a home.
