2012: MICROSOFT COMPUTER PHONE SCAM REPORTED; WARNING ANNOUNCED

A warning has been issued about a new scam affecting consumer’s.  Victims of the scam, reported fake Microsoft representatives are calling users to request personal information and then infecting their computers.

Complaints have poured in that the impersonator calls and asks for access to your computer.  They then take over your computer and steal personal data by installing a virus.  It has also led to some consumers computer’s being “held hostage” until they comply with their terms.

If you receive a call from Microsoft…hang up.  Then call their main number to confirm it is the real deal or you may be out of luck.  This scam is costing consumer’s hundreds of dollars. The company has confirmed that they never call customer’s to ask for personal information.

2012: SINGER USHER’S STEPSON BRAIN DEAD AFTER JET SKI ACCIDENT; DIES TWO WEEKS LATER

UPDATE 7/21/12: SADLY ENOUGH USHER’S STEPSON DIED TWO WEEKS AFTER ACCIDENT

Grammy award-winning singer Usher received bad news this weekend.  His 11-year-old stepson, Kirk Glover, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after the inner tube he was riding in was struck by a Jet Ski.

The ex-wife of the singer, Tameka Foster, was sitting next to her son and a 15-year-old girl when they were hit during a ride in an inner tube which was being pulled by a boat.  Kyle was reportedly struck hard in the head and suffered severe head injuries.

It was a tragic accident which happened in Georgia’s Lake Lanier.  Later reports suggest the son is now considered “brain-dead”, leaving the family in shock and horrified.  Very sad outcome for such a young boy.

As a reminder, Jet Ski’s can be dangerous if they are not used properly.  They are not a toy and should be driven with safety in mind.

7/9/12: KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN GIVES BIRTH TO BABY GIRL; PENELOPE SCOTLAND DISICK

Kourtney Kardashian and her long-time boyfriend Scott Disick have a new baby girl.  Penelope Scotland Disick was born on Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.  As usual, Kourtney easily dropped the 7 pounds, 14 ounces with a natural child birth and like a true champ.

The excited couple released a statement to E! News saying, “Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed.”

Maybe she will eventually break down and marry the man.  Scott has wanted to tie the knot for a while and after baby number two, the timing is just right.

Congrats to the happy couple!  Just wish they would have picked a better name:).

 

KATIE HOLMES & TOM CRUISE SIGN DIVORCE PAPERS; QUICKLY SEPARATED

It was announced today that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have signed divorce papers; ending their 5 year marriage.  This comes just two weeks after Katie filed for divorce, making it the fastest settlement agreement in history.  So maybe not that extreme, but with that much money involved, this is quick!

Tom Cruise jumping on the couch and enthusiastically professing his love for Katie on the Oprah Show seems like yesterday.  It is sad that the thought of true love and a “soul mate” has been squashed by this sudden dissolution of marriage.  Have we now all lost hope for the Hollywood fairytale marriage?  They seemed so “perfect“.

Well, this goes to show that all the money in the world does not guarantee happiness and “perfect” marriages, don’t exist.  It also confirms that being married to heart-throb and multi-millionaire Tom Cruise, is not all roses.

It’s a shame that their little girl Suri will join the millions of other children living in one parent households.  But at least she will certainly always have loving parents, a roof over her head and food to eat, so it’s not all bad.

The newly divorced couple released a statement to E! News, saying “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

If they think this will be a private affair…they have another thing coming.  Unfortunately, in the celebrity world there are no secrets.  But at least they settled out of court to keep the skeleton’s in the closet.  Katie having a dad as an attorney, probably helped her get everything she wanted.

On another note; isn’t it strange that his three divorces came as his ex-wives turned 33-years old?  That’s right…Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and now Katie Holmes.  Maybe he should marry an older woman to avoid this happening in the future.  Isn’t Demi Moore available?

 

(VIDEO) INDIANA 2012: TWO INFANTS LEFT IN HOT CARS BY PARENTS; ONE DIES & ONE HOSPITALIZED

The heat wave has been unbearable; reaching over 100 degrees in many parts of the country.  Indianapolis hit record highs in July with temperatures topping 104 degrees.  So why would parents leave their infant in a car?

Well, they did.  In two separate incidences, baby girls were left in the car this week.  A dad left his 3-month old and a mom left her 16-month old in sweltering cars.  The smaller of the girls was rushed to the hospital but later died.  The other infant suffered from a heat related seizure and is in critical condition.

Both parents, Meg. E. Trueblood, 30, and Joshua Stryzanski, 18, were arrested after confessing to leaving them behind.  The mom left her infant in an SUV while “bargain” shopping, with temperatures reaching 124 degrees in the car, and the dad left the baby for a long period of time.

It is amazing to think that anyone would think that it would not be harmful to leave a baby in a hot car.  Animals cannot even survive in that type of heat.  This is just plain stupid behavior and means they clearly have no common sense.

Joshua has been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.  Meg was charged with felony neglect of a child. They can both expect harsh penalties and will join the Minneapolis parents in court, who left their newborn in the car while shopping at a pharmacy.

It is sad to hear that some parents don’t have the basic common sense needed to raise a child.  This is not the first time it has happened, but let’s hope stiffer penalties and public announcements are put in place to avoid it in the future.

A word of advice, please don’t leave a child or pets in a hot car even for a minute.  It could be the biggest mistake of your life.  Make sure to read these CHILD SAFETY TIPS for heat.
