[VIDEO] WHO WON ‘THE VOICE’ 2013? RECAP & REVIEWS…AND THE WINNER IS?

So who won “The Voice” 2013?  Well, first let me start with just how much I enjoyed the finale.  It was full of excitement and guest performances which were flawless.

My personal favorite was the performance by WORLD renowned artist Lady Gaga!  I wondered how she would pull off her mega hit Do What You Want without R. Kelly, but her replacement, Christina Aguilera, did it justice.  They rocked it….and it was purely entertaining.  If you missed it, check out the video below…it will blow your mind!

The collaboration of Celene Dion and Tessanne Chin was my second favorite performance.  It was obvious this finalist was in awe singing with such a superstar.

When the top contestants joined the three finalists, Jacquie Lee, Will Champlin and Tessanne Chin
this was also jaw dropping.  They were all so good!  It reminded me just how much talent was unveiled this season on The Voice.

In the end, it was no surprise that the clear favorite won ‘The Voice’.  Yes, it was Tessanne Chin….Yes she deserved it…Yes she is already a SUPERSTAR…Yes, she was my pick to WIN.  This was a no brainer…she is seasoned, flawless and pure perfection. Jamaica was certainly cheering for her…I could hear them all the way in CHICAGO!

Very happy that ‘Team Adam’ finally beat out Blake Shelton…was getting a bit tired of his bragging.  Maybe Blake will be a bit more reserved next season!  Now Mr. Levine can be the “Sexiest Man Alive” AND The Voice winner!

Great job to the producers…by far their BEST finale yet. However, I do have one question for them.  Why would they shove a mic in the hands of the winner and make them sing after telling them they won?  How crazy is that!  She could barely get the notes out….surprised she even remembered the lyrics:).

On another note, I am really happy to see Christina in a more humble light.  At least this year it is not ALL ABOUT HER.  Maybe her new confidence since slimming down has brought our her “better side”. She normally annoys me…:).

COMPARE THE DUET WITH THE LADY GAGA & R. KELLY VERSION BELOW….THOUGHTS?

5/8/13: THE VOICE VS. IDOL; WHAT DID YOU WATCH TONIGHT? WHO WENT HOME ON THE VOICE?

The Voice went head-to-head with American Idol tonight.  According to early feedback, it appears that the new singing competition, The Voice, may be the winner.  They were smart to add another day and go against their rival on Fox. Tomorrow’s ratings should show a new leader in front of the original master of creating instant super stars.

While Idol was the one who opened the door for signing competition shows, it looks like The Voice may be the one to close it.

I watched both shows and although the earlier seasons of The Voice left me annoyed, the new addition of Usher and Shakira have me watching.  It is far better now that Christina Aguilera has left.

Curious to see the ratings tomorrow….but no doubt Idol will get crushed.  What did you watch?

On another note, if Judith Hill does not win The Voice I will eat 50 Portillo’s hotdogs.  Oh wait…that would be a good thing!   Who went home tonight?  Check it out here…at Thevoice.com.

2013: THE VOICE CRUSHES AMERICAN IDOL; IS NICKI MINAJ THE DOWNFALL?

shakira

The addition of Shakira and Usher on the new season of The Voice is more than refreshing.  It also seems to have pushed their ratings through the roof.  Is it just me or did Christina Aguilera leaving revive the show?  Not sure, but I am certainly enjoying it 100% more this year and think it was the best move of any singing competition show.

It appears that a replacement may be something for American Idol to consider.  In my opinion, it would probably help with their faltering ratings if they canned Nicki MinajAccording to some reports, they are down 10 million viewers since 2011.  Some may argue that they now have more competition and have been on the air for over a decade, but I believe Nicki and Mariah were bad choices.

While Nicki does at least provide more constructive feedback than the other judges, her nasal voice and attitude unnerves me.  If the show finds itself on the canceled list, surely she will have something to do with it.  How I miss Jennifer Lopez!

The Voice not only crushes American Idol when it comes to their judging panel, this season the talent is undeniably better.  It is still early, but the singers have already blown me away. To break it down….The Voice has better judges….check.  The Voice has better singers…check.  The Voice has a better concept…check.

I must admit The Voice originally was not my favorite singing competition, but I absolutely love the new judges! Shakira is supportive and offers Latino’s a great opportunity and Usher is just well….sexy.

It’s pretty bad when you fast forward through most singers, like I do when watching American Idol now.  Let’s face it they increased the votes to 50 per person to make it seem like millions more are voting.  Do they think the viewers are stupid?

What do you think?  Which is the better show?  Should Nicki go? Don’t forget to vote and check out the ratings listed below.

[VIDEO] THE VOICE RECAP & REVIEW 3/25/13; USHER & SHAKIRA GREAT ADDITION; JUDITH HILL CLEAR WINNER

The Voice season 4 aired on 3/25/13 with a bang!   It was a positive change with the new addition of Usher and Shakira.  This was the best move they could have made and for once it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

It opened with amazing talent which continued through the end of the show; when Michael Jackson’s personal tour selection artist hit the stage.  Judith Hill was to join his “This Is It” tour before his untimely death and she proved why she was chosen, during her performance.   If Judith does not win “The Voice”, I will eat my shoes.

While it is still early in the competition, I cannot imagine anyone showing as much potential as this obvious star.  She was truly incredible singing “What A Girl Wants“….if you were not blown away, your ears were plugged.  It was no surprise all four judges turned their chairs around.  Lucky for Adam Levine…he beat them all out and guaranteed a win for this season!

The undeniable star quality of this year’s contestants will certainly give “American Idol” a run for the money.  But what will give the show an extra boost is the new judging panel; who are much more likable.  It was great to see Christina Aguilera gone and Usher blew away Cee Lo Green.

Thank goodness for the shift…it is absolutely set to record on my DVR!  If you missed her singing audition, check out the video below and share your thoughts.

On another note; I was not mad at Usher’s obvious error in calling Nashville a state…@$#% happens!

[VIDEO] THE VOICE SEASON 4 PREMIERES 3/25/13; SHAKIRA & USHER SURE TO BE A HIT!

THE VOICE RECAP 3/25/13…CLICK HERE!

This week will be exciting for TV viewers since ”The Voice” season 4 premieres on 3/25/13.  Initially I was not a fan of the show, but liked the concept.  It occurred to me that one of the drawbacks was judge Christina Aguilera with her ME…ME…ME attitude.

The good news is…two of my favorite singers are stepping in to replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera this year.  It will be worth a watch with Usher and Shakira taking over.  Since both new judges are fan favorites, they should definitely compliment Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

Two new loveable judges should make for a great season and give the fans lots to talk about.  Finally…I am also excited to watch.   Let’s just hope my expectations are met this year.

On another note, did you already forget who won last year?  No worries…me too but you can catch up here.

(VIDEO) 12/18/12: WHO WON THE VOICE? LIVE RESULTS FINALE SEASON 3…DID AMERICA GET IT RIGHT?

Millions tuned in to The Voice season finale tonight to see who would be crowned the winner.  It was down to three very different singer’s and according to many polls, it could have gone either way.

The last three remaining contestants all brought something different to the table; Nicholas David is soulful with a non-traditional look , Cassadee Polk has pop star looks and a smooth tone, and Terry McDermott is a revival of old school rock and looks seasoned on stage.

It was a glitzy season finale, first Rihanna opened the show singing “Diamonds“.  They also brought back early fan favorites including; Amanda Brown, Michaela Paige, Bryan Keith and Rudy Parris to rock a “KISS” song with Terry.  Not my thing but they did a good job…I like the hook but the rest they can save for heavy rockers (thank goodness for DVR fast forward:).

Then a variety of popular singers teamed up with the final three contestants.  There was legendary Smokey Robinson and Nicholas David, The Killer’s and Cassadee Polk…not sure why they chose that name, but they sounded great.  The lead singer looks so innocent…maybe he meant to call them “The Driller’s?  And Grammy award winner Peter Frampton performed a rock song with Terry McDermott.

Kelly Clarkson performed her new song with Cassadee and Terry and they sounded amazing together.  She really has come a long way since Idol.  But how ironic…an American Idol former contestant was on The Voice?  The list kept going…Bruno Mars and Avril Lavigne also performed.  Bruno is definitely my new Prince…love that dude.  Big budget show for sure!  Could they have fit anyone else on stage…wow!

Although there was only one winner, it was an exciting night for all the final contestants.  They each received a brand new Kia…to drive away in!  Still wish Trevin Hunte and Amanda Brown would have driven away with one too!  One thing’s for sure…they earned a new car tonight with all the songs they had to learn for tonight.

So who won The Voice?  Was it Team Blake OR Team Cee Lo?  Third place went to Nicholas so I don’t have to eat my remote...whew!  No real shocker…Cassadee Polk was crowned “The Voice” so Blake wins again.  It probably has something to do with her hitting number one on iTunes.  Great job!  But let’s face it…she sounds like pretty much any other singer out there…America is predictable.

On another note, next season it will be great to see Christina Aguilera replaced with Shakira, and Cee Lo replaced with Usher.  Now this may be worth watching!  Love them both…:).  Glad to see Christina leaving…too much me, me, me for me.

Did America get it right?

(VIDEO BLOG) 12/11/12: WHO GOT VOTED OFF THE VOICE TONIGHT? SEMI-FINALS RECAP; TOP THREE REMAINING INCLUDES CASSADEE POLK

The Voice was down to the final four tonight.  Fans were on the edge of their seats wondering who would go home.  Would it be Cassadee Polk, Trevin Hunte, Terry McDermott, or Nicholas David?   It could have really been any of them, according to my recent poll, but two names were a sure thing.

During the opening they gave one contestant a relaxing night by confirming their place in the finals.  Of course the first singer to be called was front-runner, Terry McDermott.  It was no surprise to me, since he has been my pick to win from the beginning.

It then came down to the three hopefuls, but with Cassadee being the last remaining female, it was no shock she was next to be saved.

As predicted in my last blog, it was then Trevin and Nicholas who had to duke it out.  But they first were forced to sing a duet together…how mean!  While singing the hit song by Mariah Carey, Hero“, it was clear that Trevin had the better voice.

So who went home on The Voice tonight?  Watch my video and find out….but what I can say is that it is a complete shock!

Lets face it, in the end they will all succeed in the music industry.  The exposure they receive from The Voice is a golden ticket, so everyone is really a winner.

On another note, it looks like Team Blake may win it again this year.  If Terry takes home the prize, Mr. Me will have an even bigger head.  Blake…is all about me me me!

THANKS TO MY BLOG FANS…VIDEO MESSAGE FOR YOU!

TREVIN ROCKED THIS SONG!
