[VIDEO] 4/25/13: AMERICAN IDOL RECAP; WHO WENT HOME TONIGHT? CANDICE, ANGIE, KREE OR AMBER?

American Idol final four ladies rocked it last night.  This left viewers with the tough decision of who will head home and miss out on a chance to win it all.  It came down to Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, and Angie Miller.

Well, let’s cut to the chase…they are all brilliant singers but one had to go.  It came down to the best singers in the entire competition, Candice and Amber being in the bottom two.  Say what!  America did get it wrong.

But to everyone’s surprise they finally had to use the SAVE!  Since the judges waited so long to use it, they automatically pulled it out tonight and no one went home.  This seems like a great time, but it still seemed more appropriate early on when Curtis Finch, Jr was sent packing.  We all know one will leave the competition next week anyway.

This now gives them all a final shot to step it up.  The singer who gives a break-out performance will be guaranteed a spot in the finale.  Next week will come down to song choice and determination.

Who will win AI this year?  Take the poll below and chime in.  I am loving the girl power this year…but would be shocked if Candice and Angie were not in the final showdown.

3/20/13: AMERICAN IDOL RECAP & REVIEW; WHO’S GOING HOME?

WHO WENT HOME ON IDOL 3/21/13…CHECK IT OUT HERE.

American Idol is down to the cream of the crop.  They have a lot of great singers remaining, which makes it harder to vote anyone off.  But someone has to go…who will it be?

It began with the announcement of the voter’s choice for the “wild card” joining the tour.  The sing-off between Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland made for a simple decisionObviously the beauty ruled and Aubrey secured the spot.  But in this case she deserved it….this was not even close. Charlie blew it.

The show featured Beatles songs tonight.  Although they are considered one of the greatest groups of all time…they’re not really my favorite.  Several of their hits songs I really like, but I believe they are a bit overrated.

Then on to the singing competition.  Kree Harrison opened the show with another solid performance.  While the judges gave her great feedback, I was satisfied but not blown away.  She is an amazing singer and should be safe once again, but it was not her best.

Burnell Taylor followed with another perfect song and strong performance.  He has been consistent and his vocals are flawless.  However, tonight it really struck me how unique his voice really is and the judges agreed.  He may be a dark horse to watch…I really like him and hope he gets huge viewer support.

Amber Holcomb sang an unfamiliar Beatles song, but still nailed it.  It would be hard for her to ever sound below par, though the judges were not too thrilled with her tonight.  She still sounded good to me, but I wished she picked a better song.

Lazaro Arbos has been an inspiration throughout the season, but tonight he fell flat.  The judges were hard on him, but unfortunately they were right.  His vocals were not on point and he may be on the bubble.

Candace Glover is a star.  She has stayed consistent and always belts the notes effortlessly. It was more of a rock style song and showcased her huge voice. It was a perfect song for her, so she should be VERY safe.

Paul Jolley has held on for dear life.  He does have a great voice, but for some reason he still seems very “Broadway“.  I could see him on Glee or in Vegas, but not really as a recording artist.  The vocals were good, but I don’t see him going too much further.

Angie Miller is the real artist of the group. She does best with her own original songs, but still seems to shine.    “Yesterday” was a great song choice and she nailed it.  The other positive, was they finally did something with that puffy hair!   Finally…she looked current.

Devin Valez is my Chicago favorite (NO…I’m not bias:).  He should find himself with a long career in the music industry.  His vocals tonight were spot on and he definitely stepped up his game.  It would be surprising if he were in the bottom two this week.  Spanish and English…wow!

Janelle Arthur was the last to perform.  She is a sweet girl and very likable. Country fans are loyal and should take her a long way in the competition.  Tonight I actually liked her better than any other night. This was her best performance in my opinion.

Who’s going home tomorrow night?  If I were to guess, it should be Lazaro or Paul.  Top three tonight…Angie, Burnell and Candace.

On another note, Nicki Minaj has been on my last nerve for a while (did she forget this is live TV!).  Unfortunately, Mariah Carey is starting to get on my other nerve.  She is becoming annoying with her proper voice, so hoping they both leave next season…if there is one.  Guess my mom was right…she never liked Mariah:).  Mother knows best.

2/28/13: AMERICAN IDOL TOP 20 REVEALED; SHOCKING RESULTS FOR SEASON 12 SUDDEN DEATH ROUNDS

American Idol revealed their top 20 list of semi-finalist for season 12 on Thursday.  Fans may be disappointed at some of the results and missing a few early favorites.  While the clear front-runners such as Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, and Curtis Finch Jr. sailed through, others weren’t so lucky.

Idol has a group of amazing talent this year, so I can see the dilemma faced by the judges.  I would not want to be in their shoes, especially not those of Nicki Minaj.  It was a close call for some contestants and many early round unknown’s stepped up their game.

Although the judges did not like Josh Holliday’s rendition of an original song, I totally disagree.  It sounded it great to me and I was surprised he did not make the list.  Nick Boddington was not on my radar, but I believe he rocked it, although the judges did not think so.  Vincent Powell was clearly one of the best guys to perform and he has a real chance of making top three.  His vocals actually surpassed one some of my favorites including; Curtis and Devin.  Nicki sang high praises for Burnell, and he was really good but not the best.   Cortez Shaw also really left his heart on the stage and was incredible!

In the end, while many great singer’s were cut, there is still a huge pool of talent.  The only ones in question are Zoanette (she is entertaining but vocals don’t compare to others) and Aubrey (extremely attractive but vocals are fairly weak compared to other contestants).

This should be an incredible season and if I were to guess there are several already primed for top spots.  They include; Candace, Kree, Nick, Curtis, Vincent, Cortez and Angie.

Who do you think will win Idol?  Post your comments and let’s see who is right!  Game on…

On another note; once again Nicki Minaj is really pissing off the fans. Did she really have to be so rude to several of the contestants?  Especially David and Bryant…OMG!  Her being “obsessed” and her British accent is also beginning to unnerve me.  This inspired me to write my blog AMERICA HATES NICKI ON IDOL!

[VIDEO] 2013: AMERICAN IDOL SUDDEN DEATH ROUNDS 1 &2 RECAP; TOP 5 GIRLS & GUYS

American Idol season 12 is on fire!  The girls stepped up their game during “sudden death” round one in Vegas.  It was a tough call when they narrowed the 10 girls down to 5, but they got it right.  While a couple of early stand-outs were sent home, an incredible array of talent was left standing for the live show.

The ladies rocked it and will give the guys a run for their money.  My personal favorites were Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb, Adriana Holcomb, Teena Torres and incredible songwriter and singer Angie Miller If you missed her perform an original song make sure to watch above video and be blown away!  Guess I have great taste, because this is your top 5 semi-finalist!

The worst performance of the night was given by Kamaria Ousley….it made me question how she made it this far.  It was a bit sad to see her ship sink in front of our eyes.  Sorry but she sounded HORRIBLE!

Now on to the guys…several actually have a good chance of making top 3, but I am still rooting for the ladies.  After 6 years of a dry spell…it is time for another Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson!   But the guys did not hold back during round two and put on a good fight for the top spots.  The performances were stellar, but only a few really shined when it came to the vocals.

It started with a solid performance by Paul Jolley  but some of the judges beat him up a bit.  He sounded great to me, so not sure I agree with their comments.  However, it was clear that the guys really came alive when my favorite singer of the night, Chicagoan Devin Velez hit the stage.  He put a twist on “Listen” with a Spanish break during the song and tore it up!  Another hometown favorite from Chicago, Curtis Finch Jr, stayed true to his consistent perfection and was a no brainer to sail through.  Charlie Askew also left his fans with something to talk about…coming out of his shell with his quirky behavior.

In the end, the guys were all entertaining, but most sounded better during the earlier round.  The top five guys who will round off the live shows include; Curtis Finch Jr, Elijah Liu, Paul Jolley (thanks to Jimmy Iovine), Charlie Askew, and Devin Valez. The judges pretty much got it right.

This is a great balance of talent and there truly is no front-runner yet…but some of the best singer’s in recent years.

On another note; I really thought Kevin Harris should have made it through.  But JDA going home was the right move.  Was it just me or do you agree?
