[VIDEO] OKLAHOMA DENTIST WAYNE HARRINGTON INFECTS PATIENTS WITH HIV & HEPATITAS; FREE TESTING OFFERED

Most people heading to the dentist are dreading it (including me!).  This is second to getting your finger nails pulled off one-by one (ok not that dramatic).  However, patients of Oklahoma dentist Wayne Scott Harrington, have serious reason to be concerned.

It was found that the dentist of over 30-years allegedly used rusty old instruments when treating patients along with 10-year old expired meds. His side kicks were also found to be unlicensed but working as his assistants and treating patients.  What makes it worse is that he did not change needles and instruments between patients…YUCK!   Now there’s a chance that some of his 7000 patients may be infected with HIV or hepatitis C.

The most shocking part of this incredible story is that investigators found two different sets of instruments.  Apparently the dentist separated them; one set for patients known to have infectious diseases and the other set for patients who were not believed to have infectious diseases.  How insane!

These unsuspecting clients received a dreaded letter from Tulsa Health Department on Friday outlining the issue.  The state dental board is offering free testing to his patients, but that is obviously no comfort.

It has been reported, that while he will likely be charged with a criminal act, it may be hard to prove.  Great…now this jerk has given me ONE MORE REASON TO HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST!

[VIDEO] THE VOICE RECAP & REVIEW 3/25/13; USHER & SHAKIRA GREAT ADDITION; JUDITH HILL CLEAR WINNER

The Voice season 4 aired on 3/25/13 with a bang!   It was a positive change with the new addition of Usher and Shakira.  This was the best move they could have made and for once it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

It opened with amazing talent which continued through the end of the show; when Michael Jackson’s personal tour selection artist hit the stage.  Judith Hill was to join his “This Is It” tour before his untimely death and she proved why she was chosen, during her performance.   If Judith does not win “The Voice”, I will eat my shoes.

While it is still early in the competition, I cannot imagine anyone showing as much potential as this obvious star.  She was truly incredible singing “What A Girl Wants“….if you were not blown away, your ears were plugged.  It was no surprise all four judges turned their chairs around.  Lucky for Adam Levine…he beat them all out and guaranteed a win for this season!

The undeniable star quality of this year’s contestants will certainly give “American Idol” a run for the money.  But what will give the show an extra boost is the new judging panel; who are much more likable.  It was great to see Christina Aguilera gone and Usher blew away Cee Lo Green.

Thank goodness for the shift…it is absolutely set to record on my DVR!  If you missed her singing audition, check out the video below and share your thoughts.

[VIDEO] GEORGIA BABY SHOT BY TEENS; SUSPECT ELKINS ARRESTED; MOM SHERRY WEST SAYS “I HATE YOU!”

This week’s shooting death of a 13-month-old baby by teens, left a mom in tears and the nation enraged.  It brings new meaning to the say….”What’s wrong with people?”   Have they completely lost their minds?

Brunswick, Georgia mom, Sherry West, thought it was a good idea to take her infant for a walk in the morning.  She felt it was safer and less congested on the street, but found out that was not the case.  As she strolled down the block from the post office, in her small tight-knit community, two teens approached her.  They asked  for money while pointing a gun at her.  West told police the unthinkable, the teen then yelled at her “Do you want me to kill your baby?”  As she said “I have no money!” the boy then shot her in the leg and her baby in the head as she screamed in terror.

In the disturbing 911 tapes just released, you hear panic in the voice of a witness who called to report the crime.  The female caller yelled, “the baby has been shot!”, as the operator tries to calm her. She first confirmed the baby was still breathing, but sadly enough the toddler had been shot between the eyes and was not.

Surprisingly enough, this was not the first tragedy experienced by the mom of little Antonio Santiago.    Back in 2008 her 18-year-old son was stabbed to death while trying to break up a fight.  It made her fearful of having other children and she had just garnished the strength to have one.  So to lose another child in a senseless shooting is devastating.  Clearly her words for the killers “I hate you!”, are heartfelt.

The small community of about 15,000 is in complete shock, but has given the grief-stricken mom full support.  Police authorizes checked local school records for absent students and tracked down the alleged shooter and accomplice.  Surprisingly enough it was allegedly 17-year-old, De’Marquise Elkins, and a 14-year-old unidentified boy.

Is the world so wicked that our youth now find no value in even an infant’s life?  This is a scary thought and one seen in futuristic movies made in Hollywood.  They always seem to portray us as a zombie-like society with no feelings in the future….has this already arrived?  Let’s hope not.

Family members deny the boy’s involvement but if it was them, no matter the age….these monster’s need to be put to death.  They obviously have no love in their hearts.  Can we blame it on the violent games and movies, the undeniable epidemic of addiction to prescription drugs, or the parents’ loss of control over their children due to our softer child rearing guidelines?

My heart goes out to mother for her loss…for the baby who died too soon…and the society we have become.

[VIDEO] 3/21/21: AMERICAN IDOL RECAP & REVIEW; WHO WENT HOME? PAUL JOLLEY OR DEVIN VELEZ?

AMERICAN IDOL recap 3/21/13…so who went home?  Well, let’s start with the HUGE surprise.  The bottom three was Amber Holcomb, Paul Jolley, and Devin Velez.  One out of three means America got it wrong…and seriously AMBER!

What was American thinking?  She is one of the best singers in the competition.  Jimmy Iovine was the only one who got it right.  His summary way pretty spot on.  It was clear the only other singer who potentially would have been on the bubble is Janelle, but the country fans would never let that happen.

Not much more to say…but it was no shock that Paul Jolley found himself on the hot seat.  And we know if the judges would not use the save for Curtis Finch Jr, they certainly would not for Paul.  See ya later dude.  We will likely see him on Glee sometime soon…he is perfect for that show.

3/20/13: AMERICAN IDOL RECAP & REVIEW; WHO’S GOING HOME?

WHO WENT HOME ON IDOL 3/21/13…CHECK IT OUT HERE.

American Idol is down to the cream of the crop.  They have a lot of great singers remaining, which makes it harder to vote anyone off.  But someone has to go…who will it be?

It began with the announcement of the voter’s choice for the “wild card” joining the tour.  The sing-off between Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland made for a simple decision.  Obviously the beauty ruled and Aubrey secured the spot.  But in this case she deserved it….this was not even close. Charlie blew it.

The show featured Beatles songs tonight.  Although they are considered one of the greatest groups of all time…they’re not really my favorite.  Several of their hits songs I really like, but I believe they are a bit overrated.

Then on to the singing competition.  Kree Harrison opened the show with another solid performance.  While the judges gave her great feedback, I was satisfied but not blown away.  She is an amazing singer and should be safe once again, but it was not her best.

Burnell Taylor followed with another perfect song and strong performance.  He has been consistent and his vocals are flawless.  However, tonight it really struck me how unique his voice really is and the judges agreed.  He may be a dark horse to watch…I really like him and hope he gets huge viewer support.

Amber Holcomb sang an unfamiliar Beatles song, but still nailed it.  It would be hard for her to ever sound below par, though the judges were not too thrilled with her tonight.  She still sounded good to me, but I wished she picked a better song.

Lazaro Arbos has been an inspiration throughout the season, but tonight he fell flat.  The judges were hard on him, but unfortunately they were right.  His vocals were not on point and he may be on the bubble.

Candace Glover is a star.  She has stayed consistent and always belts the notes effortlessly. It was more of a rock style song and showcased her huge voice. It was a perfect song for her, so she should be VERY safe.

Paul Jolley has held on for dear life.  He does have a great voice, but for some reason he still seems very “Broadway“.  I could see him on Glee or in Vegas, but not really as a recording artist.  The vocals were good, but I don’t see him going too much further.

Angie Miller is the real artist of the group. She does best with her own original songs, but still seems to shine.    “Yesterday” was a great song choice and she nailed it.  The other positive, was they finally did something with that puffy hair!   Finally…she looked current.

Devin Valez is my Chicago favorite (NO…I’m not bias:).  He should find himself with a long career in the music industry.  His vocals tonight were spot on and he definitely stepped up his game.  It would be surprising if he were in the bottom two this week.  Spanish and English…wow!

Janelle Arthur was the last to perform.  She is a sweet girl and very likable. Country fans are loyal and should take her a long way in the competition.  Tonight I actually liked her better than any other night. This was her best performance in my opinion.

Who’s going home tomorrow night?  If I were to guess, it should be Lazaro or Paul.  Top three tonight…Angie, Burnell and Candace.

On another note, Nicki Minaj has been on my last nerve for a while (did she forget this is live TV!).  Unfortunately, Mariah Carey is starting to get on my other nerve.  She is becoming annoying with her proper voice, so hoping they both leave next season…if there is one.  Guess my mom was right…she never liked Mariah:).  Mother knows best.

3/18/13: CYPRUS BANK CRISIS CAUSES CHAOS; 10% TAX ON BANK ACCOUNTS; ATM’S OUT OF CASH?

The Mediterranean island’s Central Bankers and the E.U. in Cyprus caused chaos with a surprising announcement.  They shared a new plan…to combat the European financial crisis they would use 10% of each residents bank account.  In order to do so, they added a 9.9% tax on accounts over 100,000 euros to help pay for the E.U. bailout. Say what???

What do you think happened?  Of course, customer’s swarmed the banks to retrieve their funds before it was taken out.  The ATM’s ran out of cash and banks shut down leaving thousands of people in an uproar.  It also created a worldwide frenzy.  Some are even reporting on ways it will affect us.

Can you imagine how you would feel if President Obama was to tell us that he would pull our money out?  This is a crazy example of how financial messes are resolved.

The only positive is that Cyprus is considered too small to fail.  But will this carry over into other countries?  Let’s hope it does NOT make it to the U.S.  This idea sucks!

[VIDEO] THE VOICE SEASON 4 PREMIERES 3/25/13; SHAKIRA & USHER SURE TO BE A HIT!

This week will be exciting for TV viewers since ”The Voice” season 4 premieres on 3/25/13.  Initially I was not a fan of the show, but liked the concept.  It occurred to me that one of the drawbacks was judge Christina Aguilera with her ME…ME…ME attitude.

The good news is…two of my favorite singers are stepping in to replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera this year.  It will be worth a watch with Usher and Shakira taking over.  Since both new judges are fan favorites, they should definitely compliment Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

Two new loveable judges should make for a great season and give the fans lots to talk about.  Finally…I am also excited to watch.   Let’s just hope my expectations are met this year.

[VIDEO] SEASON 16 OF DANCING WITH THE STARS AIRS 3/18/13; BUT WHO’S WATCHING?

The new season of Dancing with The Stars airs tonight.  While I have to admit, it was previously my guilty pleasure, last season I was over the show.  However, this year I will definitely tune in to see Lisa Vanderpump (Housewives’ star), Kellie Pickler (American Idol contestant) and D.L. Hughley (comedian and tv star) strut their stuff.

This year’s full cast of stars seems a bit more exciting than the last couple of seasons.  It should make for better entertainment and a well-needed boost.  However, there are a few on the list whose names mean absolutely nothing to me, so the strong star power is dying down a bit.  Not surprising with that UGLY mirror ball trophy as the prize…they may want to consider a LARGE cash prize to get the ratings up and top celebs.

It will be interesting to see the ratings for tonight…to see who’s really watching?  Remember to take the poll below and post your comments.

[VIDEO] 3/17/13: JUDGE FINDS TRENT MAYS & MA’LIK RICHMOND GUILTY IN STEUBENVILLE OHIO FOOTBALL PLAYER RAPE TRIAL

Today Judge Thomas Lipps announced the verdict in the Steubenville, Ohio football player rape trial. Trent Mays and Ma’Lik Richmond were found guilty of raping a drunk 16-year-old girl during a party.

The case caused national outrage due to explicit text messages, social media posts, cell phone pictures and videos spread on the internet.

Both Steubenville High School students will spend at least a one year in a juvenile jail.  When the verdict was announced the two teens cried feverishly, then later apologized to the victim and community.

It was horrific crime and once again shows the lack of compassion found in many teens today.  Social media adds to the insanity, offering an outlet for ridiculous posts.  However, it also allows the truth to unfold right before our eyes.

Let’s hope this verdict teaches other teens that lewd behavior is unacceptable and sharing it with the world is plain foolish.  This is a St. Patrick’s Day they will never forget.
